UPSC CMS Syllabus 2021: Detailed Syllabus for All Subjects

UPSC CMS Syllabus 2021: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the revised dates of the CMS exam. As per the revised UPSC calendar, UPSC Combined Medical Services official notification will be released on July 7, 2021. Interested candidates can participate in this recruitment drive by filling an online application form. The online registration window to fill the application form will be open from July 7, 2021, to July 27, 2021. CMS exam 2021 is scheduled to be conducted on November 21, 2021. The Commission earlier postponed the exam due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

UPSC CMS Exam 2021 will be conducted in two parts. Part I will consist of two written papers – Paper 1 & Paper 2 of 250 marks each. Part II will consist of the Personality Test/Interview. UPSC CMS Syllabus 2021: Interview Round/Personality Test (Part II )

  • The candidates who qualify for the Part I CBT examination will get a chance to appear for the Part II examination. The Part II examination is the Personality Test. 
  • The Personality/Interview Test will be for 100 marks.

Part I consists of written exams with objective type questions. Each paper will have 120 MCQs. There will be negative marking for incorrect answers. For each incorrect answer, the 1/3rd marks will be deducted.

Part 1 (Paper-I): General Medicine And Paediatrics (Section Wise Mark Distribution)

There are 2 Sections in this paper, General medicine which consists of 96 questions and paediatrics which have 24 questions.

  •  It is an MCQ examination, Each Question will have 4 options.
  • The Total Number of questions asked are 120 for a total mark of 250
  • Negative Marking is applicable 1/3rd Mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. 
  • If two or more answers are given by the candidate, it will be considered as the wrong answer and negative marking is applicable even if one of the options is correct.
  • There is no negative marking for unanswered questions.

Part 1 (Paper-II)-Preventive and Social Medicine, Surgery, Gynecology and obstetrics:

Part 2: Interview Round
