Candidates for the Indian Administrative Service and the Indian Police Service must be Indian citizens. A candidate for other services must be either:

Candidates must be at least 21 years old and not older than 32 years old as of August 1, 2022, which means they must have been born between August 2, 1990, and August 1, 2001. The upper age limit specified above will be relaxed as follows:

Candidates holding a degree are eligible to apply for UPSC CSE. Candidates must have attained the educational qualification from a university incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India.
