Western Railway Apprentice Eligibility Criteria 2021

Before applying for Western Railway Recruitment 2021, candidates must check their WR eligibility criteria as per the Western Railway recruitment 2021 notification. Age Limit as on 24/06/2021:

1. The applicant should be at least 15 years old and should not have completed 24 years of age.
2. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC applicants.
3. For Persons with Disability (PWD), the upper age limit is relaxed by 10 years.
4. For Ex-servicemen, the upper age limit is relaxed by up to an additional 10 years.

WR Apprentice Educational Qualification:
Here are the important Western Railways Apprentice educational requirements specified in the Western Railway recruitment 2021 notification:

1. Applicants should have already passed Matriculation or 10th Class examination with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized Board on the date of issue of this notification i.e. 18/05/2021.
2. Applicants who failed in ITI should not apply.
3. Engineering Graduates and Diploma holders are not eligible to apply for Apprenticeship in response to this notification as they are governed by a separate scheme of Apprenticeship.

Western Railway Apprentice Application Fee

The application fee mentioned in the Western Railway recruitment 2021 notification is as given below:

1. WR Apprentice application fee is Rs. 100 (non-refundable).
2. SC/ST/PWD/Women applicants are exempted from paying any fee.
3. Fee payment will have to be made in the online mode through the payment gateway.
4. The payment can be made by using Debit Card/Credit Card /Internet Banking, etc.
5. In case the applicant has made the payment but face issue like loss of internet connection due to which the applicant is unable to download the application through the fee amount has been deducted from their Account/Debit/Credit Card, please click on the “Verify Payment” button to reconfirm the same from the payment gateway.
6. In case after completing the registration process, the online transaction is not successfully completed, please login again and make the online payment again.

Western Railway Apprentice Application Form: Documents To Be Uploaded

The Western Railway Apprentice selection process involves the following:

1. Candidate’s Photograph (3.5 cm x 3.5 cm) taken not before three months from the date of application, JPG/JPEG format. The size of the file should be between 20 kb to 70 kb with clear front view of the applicants without cap and sunglasses.
2. Candidates Signature (3.5 cm x 3.5 cm) in JPG/JPEG format. The size of the file should be between 20 kb to 30kb.
3. SSC (Class 10) mark sheet or its equivalent.
4. Consolidated ITI mark sheet of all semesters of the trade-in which applied/Provisional National Trade Certificate indicating marks.
5. National Trade Certificate issued by NCVT or Provisional National Trade Certificate issued by NCVT /SCVT.
6. Any of the following ID Proof – Aadhar Card, Passport, Driving License, Pan Card or Voter ID.

Western Railway Recruitment Selection Process

Candidates must upload the following in the WR Application Form:

1. There will be no written test or viva. Selection of candidates will be based on the merit list compiled by taking the average of the percentage of marks obtained by the applicants in Matriculation [with minimum 50% (aggregate) marks] and ITI examination giving equal weightage to both.
2. In case two applicants have the same marks, the applicant older in age shall be given preference. In case the date of birth is also the same, then the applicant who passed the matriculation exam earlier shall be considered first.
3. For the purpose of calculation of the percentage of SSC/Matriculation marks, total marks of all subjects as mentioned in the mark sheet /CGPA obtained by the applicants will be considered and not on the basis of marks of any subject or any group of subjects such as best of five.
4. For the purpose of calculation of the percentage of ITI marks, average marks mentioned in the consolidated statement of marks for all semesters of the trade should be considered.
5. In case of any discrepancy in the marks/CGPA entered in the online application found at the time of Document Verification, the candidature of the applicants will be rejected.

Note: Certificates in languages other than English or Hindi should be accompanied by an attested copy of the translation in English/Hindi.

Candidates have to produce the original copies of all documents along with 1 self-attested photocopy and two latest photographs on the day of Document Verification

Rejection Criteria At The Time Of Document Verification

Applicants are required to carefully fill in the correct details at the time of registration and bring all original documents at the time of Document Verification. If any application has the following shortcomings/irregularities, it will be rejected at the time of Document Verification:

1. Applications without a scanned signature.
2. Applications without a scanned photograph.
3. Application with a scanned photo but wearing goggles or cap or a wig or coloured glasses or disfigured/small size or unrecognizable.
4. Not possessing the prescribed Matriculation and ITI Qualification proofs for the relevant Trade on the date of submission of application.
5. Applications of over-aged or under-aged applicants.
6. Incorrect/incomplete applications.
7. Multiple applications with minor changes of information and/or facts or varied details for the same trade.
8. Applications without examination fee of Rs. 100.

Western Railway Apprentice Training Period & Stipend

Training Period: Selected candidates are required to undergo apprenticeship training for a period of 1 Year.

Stipend: After being shortlisted, candidates will undergo Apprenticeship training for 1 year. They will get a Stipend during the training at the prescribed rate as decided by the State Governments.
