XAT 2023 Counselling Process

The XAT selection procedure varies depending upon the process of the institutes which are participating in the admission process. This process tests the overall ability of the candidate. Depending upon the selection process and its outcome, an institute decides whether a candidate is suitable enough to be admitted or not.

Below we have listed the steps involved in the XLRI Selection Procedure through XAT 2023:

1st Step: XAT Registration for Counselling

• Before appearing for the counselling process, all the candidates must register themselves for the same.
• This can be carried out by putting in the required credentials on the website of the chosen college.
• At this stage, the candidates are required to make payment for the counselling fees to participate in counselling rounds.
• In this respect, the students must consider the fact that the fee for counselling varies from institution to institution.

2nd Step: XAT Choice Filling and Locking

• Upon successful completion of the process of registration, candidates will get the option to select their preferred course in the college/ academic institution to which they want to be admitted.
• Select the preferred course in the institution and lock it.
• It must be noted in this respect that once the choice of the student is locked, no further change can be carried out at the later stage of registration.

3rd Step: XAT Final Seat Allotment

The final allotment for the seat is carried out relying upon the choices made by the candidate. It is also based on the status of seat availability as well as the ranks on the merit list.

XAT Group Discussion (GD)

In the group discussion round, the candidates are divided into multiple groups of 8- 15 students based on the number of candidates who are shortlisted as well as the total number of GD rounds to be that the given institute desires to take. Each group is allotted a topic which they are supposed to discuss. There will be a stipulated time given for the group discussion, and it will be around 15- 25 minutes.

The topics which will be provided to the candidates are expected to be related to politics, current events or social issues, or any element concerned with marketing, technology, business, or education, among others.

XAT Personal Interview (PI)

The personal interview is all about questions concerned with the candidate’s academic career till now, family background, interests, achievements and motivation/ inspiration for choosing MBA. The interviewers are inclined to understand the mental strength as well as the verbal skills of the candidate by judging their content, level of confidence, capability to work under pressure as well as communication skills.
