XAT Counselling 2023: The Xavier School of Management (XLRI) will conduct XAT 2023 on January 08, 2023. Furthermore, XLRI will release the result after the exam. Candidates must have to obtain the cutoff marks to participate in the counselling procedure, i.e., group discussion and personal interview. Steps Involved in XAT Counselling Process 2023

XLRI Jamshedpur conducts the XAT exam. Below we have listed the steps involved in the XAT counselling process 2023:

Step 1: XAT Registration For counselling

  • Prior to appearing for the counselling process, all the candidates must register themselves for the same.
  • This can be carried out by putting in the required credentials on the website of the chosen college.
  • At this stage, the candidates are required to make payment as the counselling fees to participate in counselling rounds.
  • In this respect, the students must consider the fact that the fee for counselling varies from institution to institution.

Step 2: XAT Choice Filling And Locking

  • Upon successful completion of the process of registration, candidates will get the option to select their preferred course in the college/ academic institution where they want to be admitted.
  • Select the preferred course in the institution and lock it.
  • It must be noted in this respect that once the choice of the student is locked, no further change can be carried out at the later stage of registration.

Step 3: XAT Final Seat Allotment

  • The final allotment for the seat will be carried out relying upon the choices made by the candidate. It will also be based on the status of seat availability as well as the ranks on the merit list.

Documents Required for XAT Counselling

Candidates can check the documents required during the XAT 2023 counselling below:

  • Original letter of counselling and photocopy of the same
  • Bank draft as per the guidelines mentioned in the XAT brochure
  • Caste Certificate, if any
  • XAT 2023 Rank Card
  • Medical documents based on the guidelines mentioned in the XAT Brochure
  • 4-6 Passport size photographs coloured and black & white
  • Original and Xerox of XAT 2023 Admit Card

XAT Selection Procedure

The selection procedure of the examination varies depending upon the process of the institutes which are participating in the admission process. This process will test the overall ability of the candidate. Depending upon the XAT selection procedure and its outcome, an institute will decide whether a candidate is suitable enough to be admitted or not. The process of selection will include two steps: group discussion and personal interviews.

XAT Group Discussion

In the group discussion round, the candidates are divided into multiple groups of 8- 15 students on the basis of the number of candidates who are shortlisted as well as the total number of GD rounds to be that the given institute is desired to take. Each group is allotted a topic which they are supposed to discuss. There will be a stipulated time given for the group discussion, and it will be around 15- 25 minutes.

The topics which will be provided to the candidates are expected to be related to politics, current events or social issues, or any element concerned with marketing, technology, business, or education, among others.

XAT Personal Interview

The personal interview is all about questions concerned with the candidate’s academic career till now, family background, interests, achievements and motivation/ inspiration for choosing MBA. The interviewers are inclined to understand the mental strength as well as the verbal skills of the candidate by judging their content, level of confidence, capability to work under pressure as well as communication skills.

About XAT Exam

The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is a national-level management entrance examination conducted by XLRI, Jamshedpur, for admission to MBA/PGDM programmes. Apart from XLRI and 10 other XAMI members, over 700 B-schools accept XAT scores for admission to their post-graduate management programmes.
