IBPS RRB Office Assistant Selection Stage 1: Prelims

This is the most important stage in the selection process, as applicants will be selected for the final merit list entirely based on their performance in this stage. The exam pattern of the IBPS RRB Office Assistant Mains exam is as follows:

• Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude/ Numerical Ability, English/ Hindi Language, Computer Knowledge, and General Awareness are the five sections in the Mains examination.
• The main exam consists of 200 multiple-choice questions worth 200 marks.
• The total time duration of the Mains exam is 2 hours.
• For each incorrect answer, 0.25 marks are deducted.

Provisional Allotment

Candidates who apply for the position of Office Assistant will be called for a provisional allotment after passing the Mains exam. The provisional allotment shall be limited to the RRBs of the state chosen.

• A provisional allotment list will be created in each category based on the available seats; however, this does not guarantee employment.
• The candidates must meet the eligibility criteria, and the final allotment will be done on a merit basis.
• The Government of India’s guidelines for age relaxations, reserved categories, and so on will be followed during the provisional allotment of seats.
• If two or more candidates receive the same marks, an allotment will be made based on the candidate’s date of birth(s).
• Only merit candidates from the reserved category will be revised against unreserved category vacancies. They will be given provisional allotment first, treating them as reserved candidates based on their preference for Regional Rural Banks.

Document Verification

Failure to provide the documents may mark the candidate ineligible for the IBPS RRB Office Assistant post. Below is the list of documents that are required for the verification purpose:

• Printout of the online IBPS RRB Clerk Application Form.
• Proof of Date of Birth (Class 10th certificate/ Birth certificate issued by Municipal Corporation).
• Photo Identity Proof.
• Mark sheets & certificates for Graduation or equivalent qualification etc. A proper document from the board or university stating that the result has been declared.
• Caste Certificate.
• Income and Asset Certificate.
• Disability certificate issued by the authorised medical board.
• Ex-Servicemen must submit Proforma B from the Competent Authority, which shows the date of completion of a specific period of engagement (SPE), along with a declaration in Proforma C.
• Candidates working in government/quasi-government offices/public sector undertakings (including nationalised banks and financial institutions) must provide a “No Objection Certificate.”
• Individuals who are eligible for an age reduction must bring the necessary documentation.

IBPS RRB Clerk Final Allotment

After all stages of the IBPS RRB Clerk selection procedure gets completed, the final merit will be declared based on the performance of the candidates. The list shows the state-wise roll numbers of qualified applicants who are assigned to various Regional Rural Banks (RRB).

IBPS RRB Clerk Language Proficiency Test

Candidates must be fluent in the language specified by the RRB. Applicants who have previously studied the state language in Class 8 or any level above Government recognised Boards of Education/Schools or who have a certificate of Class 8 or any level above would be regarded as competent in that local language. 

If the applicant does not fulfil the criteria in the local language at the time of selection, he will be given six months from the date of joining to learn it. The boards of RRBs may extend this period within the framework of the rules, provided that such extension does not extend beyond the probation period.
