About Exam

The Indian Air Force (IAF) released a detailed notification on its official website for Indian Agneepath Air Force recruitment for Agniveer Vayu Intake of 01/2024. Unmarried male Indian citizens born between June 27, 2003 and December 27, 2006 are eligible to apply for this recruitment. The selection process comprises of online written test, physical fitness test (PFT), document verification, adaptability test, and medical verification. 

Candidates need to clear all the phases of the selection process to become a part of Agniveer. The salary for Agniveers will be around Rs. 4.76 lakhs per annum in the first year and about Rs. 6.92 lakhs per year in the final year. Agniveer Vayu (Science and Non-Science Group) Salary & Job Profile 2023

Previous Year Analysis

The Indian Force will offer adequate training for the selected candidates. These candidates will be trained in all major areas to be efficient enough to help the force whenever needed. The IAF recruits candidates under the Agniveer scheme only for a tenure of 4 years. Post that, the authorities will conduct an assessment, and out of the total, only 25% who clear all the standards will be inducted into the IAF permanently.

Other Details:

  • Agniveer Vayus are not required to contribute to any Provident Fund of the Government. 
  • There is no entitlement to gratuity or pensionary benefits.
  • Selected candidates will be provided with non-contributory life insurance coverage of Rs.48 lakhs for the duration of their service as Agniveer Vayus in the Indian Air Force.
  • The provisions of the Indian Air Force Pension Regulations will not apply to Vayus. To know the details of the death/disability compensation, log on to the Agnipath official website.
  • Ex-Servicemen status will not be available to personnel enrolled in the Angnipath Scheme.

Agniveer Vayu (Science and Non-Science Group) Eligibility Criteria 2023

To be considered for the position of Agniveer, candidates must meet all of the eligibility requirements specified by the Indian Army Force. The Air Force Agneepath Recruitment 2023 Eligibility Criteria are listed below.

Age Limit

Candidate must be born between June 27, 2003 and December 27, 2006 (both dates inclusive) to be eligible. 

Education Qualification

Candidate should have the following academic eligibility for the Air Force Agneepath Recruitment 2023:

Detail Educational Qualification
For Science Subjects Science subject candidates must have passed the Intermediate/10+2 or an equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English from a COBSE-recognised Education Board, with a minimum of 50% in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
OR
Passed a 3-year Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Automobile/ Computer Science/ Instrumentation Technology/ Information Technology) from a Government recognised Polytechnic institute with a minimum of 50% aggregate and 50% marks in English in the Diploma Course or in Intermediate/Matriculation level, if English is not a subject in Diploma.
OR
Passed a 2-year vocational course with non-vocational subjects such as Physics and Maths from any COBSE recognised State Education Boards/Councils with 50% aggregate and 50% marks in English in the vocational course or in Intermediate/ Matriculation level, if English is not a subject in the vocational course.
For Other than Science Subjects Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects approved by Central / State Education Boards listed as COBSE member with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

Nationality

The candidates must be Citizens of India or Nepal to be eligible to apply for the Agniveer Vayu (Science and Non-Science Group) exam.

Only unmarried male candidates can apply for the Agniveer Vayu exam.

Physical and Medical Standards

General Health Normal anatomy without loss of any appendages. Candidates must be from any active/latent, acute/chronic, medical/surgical disabilities or communicable diseases, infections and skin conditions. They must be mentally and physically fit to perform duty in any climate and terrain.

Vision Standards

Agniveervayu vision standards as applicable for IAF.

  • Candidates must bring the latest prescription and spectacles for corrected vision if in use. The prescription should have the signature, stamp and registration number of the eye specialist/doctor. It must not be more than one month old.
  • One must have 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in the other, which is later correctable to 6/6 only for hypermetropia.
  • Vision defects:
    1. Manifest hypermetropia must not exceed +2.0 D sphere
    2. No myopia
    3. Astigmatism must be +0.75 D Cylinder with +2.0 D maximum
  • Near Vision must be N-5 in each eye.
  • Corneal Surgery (PRK/LASIK) is not acceptable.

Number of Attempts

There is no limit to the number of attempts specified by the authorities as long as they meet the eligibility criteria.

Language Proficiency

The test is available in Hindi and English, except for the English subject paper.

The Agniveer Vayu online registration process began on July 27, 2023, and was active until August 17, 2023. Here are the steps you need to follow to apply for Agniveer.

  • Step 1: Visit the official website to apply for Agniveer Vayu.
  • Step 2: Register yourself by entering your e-mail id, and password. 
  • Step 3: Fill in the registration form and generate the login credentials.
  • Step 4: Then go back to the home page and click again on login.

  • Step 6: Now you are advised to download the confirmation page and take its printout for future reference.

Application Fee

The examination fee of Rs.250 is to be paid by the candidate during the online registration of Agneepath. The payment can be made by any of the methods listed below:

  • Pay via Credit/Debit Card (Master/Visa/Maestro), Net banking: Candidates can pay online using any Credit/Debit Card (Master/Visa/Maestro), and net banking. Some additional charges are applicable for the payment via Net banking.
  • Pay via the Unified Payments Interface (UPI): Candidates can also pay online using their UPI by entering a VPA.
