Notice writing questions are found in the CBSE English Question Paper under Section-B. Notice Writing: Important Tips

A few important notice writing tips which will help you while writing a notice are listed below:

  1. A well-written notice must address the 5 Ws:
    • What is the event that is going to happen,
    • Where will the event take place
    • When will the event take place (that is, the date and time)
    • Who can apply or is eligible to take part in the event
    • Whom and how to contact or where to apply (that is, the issuing authority)
  2. Mention the word “NOTICE” at the top of the Notice
  3. Make sure to write a notice in the box always
  4. Only formal language must be used to write a notice
  5. Compulsorily mention the notice issuing organisation’s name
  6. Your heading/title/subject line must be short, simple and meaningful
  7. Mention who is the target group that the notice is trying to attract
  8. Mention the date, venue, and time on the notice
  9. Always end the notice with the signature and name of the notice issuing person
