Points to Remember While Writing Compartment Exams:

  • A student who has failed in the exam has another opportunity to write the exams again and not waste a year. This is referred to as compartment exams.
  • A student can take the compartment exams thrice.
  • A candidate who is unable to pass all the three times would be treated as failed and would have to reappear in all the subjects in the subsequent annual examinations.
  • The internal assessment marks would be carried forward till the third chance of compartment exams, although the student will have the option to retain these marks or appear for internal assessment/practical exams again.
  • If a student has failed in practical/internal assessment, they have to appear for both theory and practical regardless of whether or not they have passed in the theory paper.

Procedure to Apply for Compartment Exams

  • Keep important documents like admit card and marks statement ready before applying.
  • Click on the category of examination carefully under which the student wants to apply.
  • Fill in all the details and select subjects carefully. Specify the City/District from the list provided which is based on the state selected by the student. The state and city selected will be used for determining the examination centre and regional office. Hence it should be selected carefully as it cannot be modified later. On submission, the student will be shown the application number, note down the application number as it will be used for all future references
  • Upload the scanned Photo and Signature image using “Upload Image” option
  • Go to Fee Payment option and pay using e-challan or Demand Draft
  • Go to “Generate Confirmation Page” option, generate the confirmation page. Candidate must send photocopy of the mark sheet/grade sheet cum Certificate of Performance of the Roll No. filled in the application form and copy of e-challan/Original DD (in case of payment made through DD) along with the confirmation page to the concerned Regional Office whose address is given on the confirmation page.
