RRC Group D Exam Pattern 2021-22 (New): CBT-2 Pattern

RRC Group D Exam Pattern 2021-22: Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has issued an official notice regarding RRB/RRC Group D Exam Pattern on January 24, 2022. In the RRB Group D exam 2021-22, the authorities have introduced a new selection procedure that incorporates CBT 2. Previously, the final selection in the RRB Group D exam was based on a single written exam (CBT 1). The RRB Group D revised Exam Pattern for level 1 posts includes computer-based examinations (CBT 1 and 2), physical efficiency tests (PET), document verification, and a medical exam.

As 1,15,67,248 applications were received, the decision to conduct two stages of RRB Group D 2022 examination has been decided. Candidates must be well aware of RRC Group D New Exam Pattern and prepare well for the exams.

RRB Group D Selection Process

RRC Group D is conducted online, and the exam is Computer-based. Applicants who get through the Computer-based test (CBT-1 & CBT-2) will be taken forward for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Furthermore, candidates clearing the PET will go ahead and sit for the Document Verification and Medical Examination. The RRC Group D recruitment comprises three stages of the selection process:

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT-1)
  2. Computer Based Test (CBT-2)
  3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  4. Document Verification and Medical Examination

RRB Group D Level-1 Exam Pattern 2022 (CBT-2) [NEW]

Following the performance in the CBT-1 Exam, candidates will be shortlisted for the CBT-2 Exam. The shortlisting will be determined by multiplying the number of openings by 15 times. According to a notice issued on January 24, 2022, the pattern for CBT-2 would be as follows, while the syllabus will remain the same as for CBT-1.

Note:

  • Successful candidates in CBT 1 equal to 15 times the total vacancies will be called for CBT 2.
  • The difficulty of questions shall be as per 10th Std.
  • The syllabus shall be the same as per CBT 1.

RRC/RRB Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Applicants who get through the first stage of the RRC Group D exam, i.e. the CBT-1 & CBT-2, will be further called for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

RRC Document Verification

Based on the performance in CBT subject to their qualifying in PET, applicants twice the number of vacancies will be called for Document Verification as per their merit and options. The following documents are required for verification by the official body:

  1. SC/ ST certificate (if applicable)
  2. Photocopy of both sides of Aadhar Card.
  3. JK domicile certificate.
  4. OBC (Non Creamy Layor) certificate.
  5. Matriculation/ High School exam certificate or an equivalent certificate as proof for date of birth and matriculation qualification.
  6. Medical certificate for persons with disabilities (PwD).
  7. Minority community declaration on Non-judicial stamp paper.
  8. NCVT(NTC/ NAC) or SCVT certificate as applicable.
  9. Non Creamy layer declaration by OBC candidates.
  10. Income certificate for waiving examination fee for Economically Backward Classes.
  11. Original discharge certificate for Ex-servicemen.
  12. Receipt of payment, if made through a challan at SBI branch or Pay-in-slip at a computerized post office.
  13. Self-certification by the transgender candidates.

Note: However, the additional applicants will be considered only if there is a shortfall in empanelment from the merit list or as a replacement against the shortfall because of not joining recommended applicants in the working post or any other special requirements. Applicants should note that RRBs/ RRCs only recommend names of the empanelled candidates, and appointment is offered only by the respective Railway Administrations.

RRC Group D Marks Normalization

Applicants will be shortlisted for various stages based on the normalized marks obtained by them. The normalization scheme to be followed for short-listing applicants from CBT to PET as well as for the Document Verification process is as follows:

In CBT, the exam may have to be conducted in multiple sessions. For such multisession papers, a suitable normalization is applied to consider any variation in the difficulty levels of the question papers across various sessions. The formula for calculating the normalized marks for multi-session papers is as below:

Note: The Railway Administration reserves the right to modify the formula or adopt different formulas based on technical considerations.

RRB Group D CBT Cut-off

The following are the minimum percentages of marks for several categories:

  • UR-40%
  • EWS-40%
  • OBC(Non-creamy layer)-30%
  • SC-30%, ST-30%

Note- This percentage of marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2% for PwBD candidates in case of a shortage of PwBD candidates against vacancies reserved for them.
