Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) Job Profile

  • The Lower Division Clerk post is considered as one of the lowest levels of administrative posts in the Government of India for SSC CHSL Jobs.
  • However, the responsibilities and tasks will also vary depending on the department and ministries that they are appointed by.
  • The LDCs work under the Central Government in various sections of the administrative department.
  • Since the majority of work of LDCs will be related to Office work, the standard SSC CHSL working hours of 9:00 A.M to 5:00 P.M will apply for them.
Responsibilities of Lower Division Clerks
  • Manually uploading data to the computer.
  • Typing out letters and orders as advised by the higher authorities.
  • Indexing, registering, and maintaining file registers.
  • Maintaining a record and registry of the e-mails and documents received.
  • Responsible for clerical work and maintaining workflow in the office.

Data Entry Operator (DEO) Job Profile

  • The role of a Data Entry Operator is basically to enter data into a computer.
  • Since this job requires extraordinary typing skills, candidates who clear the Typing test during the SSC CHSL Selection Process will only be recruited.
  • This post has regular office timings and is mostly a desk job.
Responsibilities of Data Entry Operator (DEO)
  • Entering and formatting data onto a computer.

  • The Postal Assistants work for the postal services across various departments.

  • Responsible for the smooth functioning of the postal services.
