Here are some of the guidelines established for the use of a scribe by a person with a disability.

  • Only candidates with benchmark disabilities in the categories of blindness, locomotors disability (both arm affected-BA), and cerebral palsy will be allowed to use a scribe.
  • Candidates must visit the SSC Office of their exam centre two days before the exam to meet the scribe in order to check and verify whether the scribe is suitable or not.
  • A compensatory time allowance of 20 minutes per hour will be provided to those who use a scribe during the examination.
  • If a candidate does not request scribe assistance from the SSC Office while applying online, it will be assumed that they do not require scribe assistance from the SSC Office and will arrange scribe on their own.
  • PwBD candidates who use a scribe and receive compensatory time must present the Scribe Declaration certificate at the Document Verification/Online exam.
  • Failure to provide the certificate will result in the cancellation of the candidature.
