SSC CPO Exam Pattern 2023: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) releases the SSC CPO exam pattern on its official website. The recruitment is conducted to fill the posts of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assistance Sub-Inspector in CISF. Candidates willing to take up the SSC CPO exam must check this article to get a detailed idea about the exam pattern.

SSC CPO Exam Pattern 2023

The SSC CPO exam will consist of 5 stages. The 5 stages are as follows:

  1. Written Examination – Paper 1
  2. Physical Standard Test/ Physical Endurance Test
  3. Written Examination – Paper 2
  4. Medical Examination Test
  5. Document Verification

The detailed selection procedure for the SSC CPO Exam is as follows:

  • Candidates shortlisted based on their performance in Paper 1 will be eligible to appear for the Physical Standard Test (PST)/ Physical Endurance Test (PET).
  • Candidates who qualify in the PET/ PST exam will be allowed to appear for Paper 2 of the exam.
  • However, the PET/ PST exam is only qualifying in nature. Based on their performance in Paper 1 and Paper 2, candidates will be shortlisted for the Medical examination.
  • Only selected candidates who qualify for the Medical exam will be called for document verification. 
  • The final selection of candidates will be made based on the aggregate marks secured by candidates in Paper 1 and Paper 2 of the SSC CPO exam.

Important Points:

  1. Both Paper 1 and Paper 2 will have objective questions of Multiple Choice Type.
  2. Except for the English Language section, all other three sections will be available in both English and Hindi.
  3. There is a penalty for wrong answers in the SSC CPO exam. 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

SSC CPO Medical Test

Candidates who clear paper 2 must undergo a detailed medical examination (DME) by the medical officer of the CAPFs. Besides this, candidates who are declared unfit are allowed to appeal before Review Medical Board within the prescribed time frame. Check the following points of the SSC CPO medical examination below:

  1. The minimum eyesight should be N6 and the minimum distant vision should be 6/6 of both eyes without any corrections in terms of wearing glasses or surgery.
  2. The candidate should not have a knock knee, flat foot, varicose veins or squint eyes.
  3. Candidates should be healthy and from any physical defects.
  4. Candidates will be asked to perform activities like Jumping over the vertical boards, holding the rope on jumping from the board, Tarzan swing, jumping on the horizontal board, parallel rope, monkey crawl and vertical rope.
