SSC issued a detailed SSC CPO recruitment notification on July 22, 2023, and SSC CPO Paper 1 is scheduled from October 3 to 6, 2023. Therefore, candidates should start practising the SSC CPO question paper series for Paper 1 and Paper 2.

The SSC CPO exam provides an excellent opportunity for aspirants who want to join the Delhi Police and other forces such as the CRPF, CISF, BSF, ITBP, and SSB. Nationality

Candidates who want to register for SSC CPO recruitment 2023 must ensure that they are citizens of a particular country and residents of a particular state as specified by the authority. The commission officials will not accept applications from those who are not eligible as per the official guidelines.

Candidates must be

  • Citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal, or
  • A subject of Bhutan, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 01, 1962, to permanently settle in India,
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam to settle in India permanently.

Note – A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary will be admitted to the examination. Still, the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.

Educational Qualification

Educational qualification is one of the most important factors to look at before applying online for SSC CPO Recruitment 2023. It is mandatory for all aspiring candidates to have the minimum required qualification to be eligible to participate in the said recruitment drive. Candidates must read the following points to know more about the educational criteria:

  • Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from any recognised university or institution.
  • Candidates who got their degrees/diplomas via open and distance learning modes are also eligible to apply for the said exam.

NOTE: Aspirants who have acquired their degrees or diplomas as of August 15, 2023, are eligible and can apply online on the official website.

For Sub Inspector Post in Delhi Police Only

Male candidates must possess a valid Driving License for LMV (Motorcycle and Car) on the date fixed for Physical Endurance and Measurement Tests. However, the candidates who do not have a Valid Driving License for LMV (Motorcycle and Car) are eligible for all other posts in CAPFs.

Candidates need to note a few important points concerning the Physical Standard Test. Some of them are given below:

  • For female candidates, there will be no requirement for chest measurements.
  • Candidates who belong to the Ex-Servicemen category need not undergo PET.
  • Weight: Corresponding to height (for all posts).
  • Relaxation in height and chest (as the case may be) will be permissible only on production of certificate in the Performa from the competent authorities of the District where they ordinarily reside(s)
  • The relaxation in physical standards (height/chest), once granted at the time of initial appointment in Delhi Police, will hold good till the individual concerned remains in Delhi Police.
  • Those candidates who are declared not qualified in Physical Standards, i.e. height and chest, may prefer an appeal, if they so desire, to the appellate authority present on the PET/ PST ground. The decision of the appellate authority will be final, and no further appeal or representation in this regard will be entertained.
  • PST/ PET will not carry any marks but will be of a qualifying/ elimination nature.

SSC CPO Physical Endurance Criteria

The Physical Endurance Test is the second part of the Physical and Medical Test. Aspirants need to have a thorough knowledge of the eligible criteria.

For Male Candidates Only:

  • 100 meters race in 16 seconds,
  • 1.6 km race in 6.5 minutes,
  • Long Jump: 3.65 meters in 3 chances,
  • High Jump: 1.2 meters in 3 chances,
  • Shot put (16 Lbs.): 4.5 meters in 3 chances.

For Female Candidates Only:

  • 100 meters race in 18 seconds,
  • 800 meters race in 4 minutes,
  • Long Jump: 2.7 meters in 3 chances,
  • High Jump: 0.9 meters in 3 chances.

SSC CPO Medical Standards

There will be various tests that will be administered in medical exams. The criteria that the candidate must meet are listed below:

  • Eye Test: Without spectacles, the minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9, and near vision should be N6 and N9 for two eyes without correction. It will be a complete eye check-up and include tests like near-sight vision, Far-Sighted vision, and Irish Check. Aspirants are prohibited from using lenses on exam day as the officials will check for them by rubbing their eyes. Candidate must also possess high colour vision and should not have any squint in both eyes.
  • Lasik Surgery: Candidates who have undergone Lasik surgery will be immediately disqualified for medical checkups. Meanwhile, a doctor cannot determine if a candidate has undergone Lasik surgery unless he or she admits it. The surgery can only be identified by a machine test, and doctors conducting SSC CPO medical tests aren’t allowed to do it.
  • Colour Blindness Test: Candidates will be asked to read numbers in the colour-dotted book to check for colour blindness amongst aspirants.
  • Flat Foot and Knock Knee Check: Knock Knee test is done to analyse whether a candidate’s knees touch one another when standing at a 90-degree angle. In case they do, then the candidate will be disqualified. Within the Flat Foot test, the form of a candidate’s foot is checked. It should have a curve shape. If the foot is flat rather than curved, the candidate is disqualified.
  • Urine Sample Collection 
  • Sharp Sensibility Checkup Test of Nose-Ear-Mouth and Teeth.
  • Blood Test: This is to check haemoglobin, STD, and any other such diseases and CBC Report.
  • Physical Body Check: The candidate’s B.P., balanced weight and height, BMI calculation and the whole body checkup are covered under this test.
  • X-Ray of Chest: This test is only applicable for male candidates as there are no female criteria for chest.
  • Hand Movement Test: Candidates are required to have efficient movement of hands and perfect hand-carrying angles during the test.
