CTET Exam Pattern 2022: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is going to release the CTET notification in a couple of days on its official website, viz. ctet.nic.in. The notification will also furnish the CTET Exam Pattern that would be a blueprint for passing the test with good grades. The CTET 2022 Exam Pattern would include the structure of both exams—Paper-I and Paper-II. These two papers shall be organised by CBSE on the same day, but in different shifts. Since CTET is carried out at the national level, the competition is likely to be stiff and candidates, therefore, require to get a deeper understanding of the test.

CTET Exam Pattern For Paper 1 & 2

In CTET 2022 examination Paper-I comprises five subjects namely, Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language-II, Mathematics and Environmental Studies. On the other hand, Paper-II comprises four subjects which are Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language-II, Mathematics and Science or Social Studies/Social Sciences. All the questions appearing in the exam paper will be Multiple Choice Questions with four options. Each question carries one mark and there is no negative marking. Paper 1 and Paper 2 have a composite time duration of 2.5 hours. There are two papers designed for CTET:

  1. Paper 1 is for the candidates who aspire to be a teacher for Class 1-5
  2. Paper 2 is for the candidates who aspire to be a teacher for Class 6-8
Note: Candidate who wants to become a teacher for both levels, should appear for both papers 1 & 2.

Nature and Standard of Questions

  1. Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on educational psychology and learning relevant to the age of 6-11. And focus on understanding the characteristics and needs of diverse learners, interaction with learners and attributes of qualities of good facilitator.
  2. The language I will focus on the proficiency related to the medium on instruction.
  3. Language II will focus on elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.
  4. Mathematics and Environmental Studies will focus on concepts, problem-solving and pedagogical understanding of the subjects.
  5. The questions will be based on the topics prescribed in the NCERT syllabus of Class 1-5.

CTET Exam Pattern: Qualifying Marks

Candidates can check the following criteria required to crack the exam.

  1. Candidates scoring 60 percent and above will be qualified for the exam.
  2. Candidates belonging to SC/ST, Differently abled person will be considered by the school management according to their extant reservation policy.

CTET 2022: Use of OMR Sheet

Candidates will be given OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) Sheet at the time of exam. Therefore, candidates must check the following instruction for using the OMR sheet given below:

  1. The OMR sheet is placed inside the sealed booklet given at the time of exam.
  2. The code printed on the OMR sheet will be same as that of booklet.
  3. Candidates should only write roll number on OMR Sheet.
  4. There will be four options mentioned in the OMR Sheet i.e., A, B, C & D.
  5. Candidates should not scribble or leave any marks on the OMR Sheet as it will be scanned through optical scanner.
  6. Candidates should use blue/black ball point pen to mark the answers in the sheet.
  7. In the OMR Sheet side 1, candidates will have to mark their Name, Fathers Name, Roll Number, Center Number, Examination center and Subjects.
  8. In the OMR Sheet Side 2, candidates will have to mark Main test booklet number, roll number, language supplement booklet code, language supplement booklet number, medium of language and signature.

CTET 2022 Selection Process

 Candidates appearing for Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) are selected based on their score in the written exam. As per CTET 2022 selection criteria, candidates must score 60 per cent or more marks in the written examination to get selected.
