Salary Structure
The pay scale for ESIC Upper Division Clerks is based on the 7th Pay Commission. The pay scale for ESIC UDC salary will be Level 4 of the Pay Matrix, with a grade pay of Rs. 2,800 as per the 7th Central Pay Commission.

                                        The only eligibility criteria to appear in the ESIC UDC Mains exam is to qualify in the prelims exam. However, if candidates fail to meet the following eligibility criteria, they will not be permitted to take the ESIC UDC Mains examination.
Age Criteria
There is some prescribed age limit for the ESIC UDC posts. Candidates must be between 18 and 27 years. The minimum age for the candidates is 18 years and the maximum age for the candidates who are applying for the ESIC UDC is 27 years.
Age Relaxation
Reserved category members, such as SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Ex-Servicemen, as well as ESIC employees and government employees, have their upper age limit relaxed. Refer to the below table for the age relaxation of various categories.

Education Qualification
Candidates must complete the degree (B.A/ B.Sc/ B.Com etc) and B.E, B.Tech and other equivalent education from the recognised universities are eligible to apply for the ESIC UDC posts.
Note: Basic computer knowledge such as operating MS office (MS word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, etc.) are mandatory to apply for the ESIC UDC examination.
Number of Attempts
There are no restrictions on the number of attempts for the ESIC UDC examination. As long as the candidates meet the eligibility criteria, they are allowed to take the ESIC UDC examination.
Language Proficiency
The main question paper of the ESIC UDC examination is bilingual, i.e., the question paper will be in both English and Hindi languages except for the English language section.
Nationality
Candidate must be either from
- A citizen of India,
- A subject of Nepal,
- A Subject of Bhutan,
- A Tibetan refugee, or 
- A person of Indian origin who had migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of settling in India permanently.

                                        There is no separate application process for the ESIC UDC Mains exam. Those candidates who have registered for ESIC UDC Prelims and cleared it will be directly selected for the Mains examination
The process of filling out the ESIC UDC application form is listed below:
- Step 1: Candidates can visit the ESIC website at https://www.esic.nic.in/ and select the option ‘APPLY ONLINE FOR RECRUITMENT TO THE POST OF UDC IN ESIC’, which will take them to the application form.
- Step 2: The online application form is opened in a new window.
- Step 3: To register your application, go to ‘Click here for Registration’ and fill in your name, phone number, email address, and contact information. 
- Step 4: A provisional registration number and password will be assigned.
- Step 5: The system generates the data and displays it on the screen. 
- Step 6: A temporary registration number and password will be displayed on the screen as well as the candidate will get the same through email and message notification.
- Step 7: Candidates are recommended to carefully fill out and verify the information on the online application because after pressing the COMPLETE REGISTRATION BUTTON, no changes will be possible to be made or entertained.
- Step 8: The candidate’s name, as well as the names of his or her father or guardian, should be spelt accurately in the application, and they look similar to the certificate provided. Any change or modification discovered could disqualify the candidate.
- Step 9: Click the ‘Validate Your Details’ and ‘Save & Next’ buttons to validate your information and save your application.
- Step 10: Candidates should scan and submit their photos and signatures according to the instructions in the guidelines for scanning and uploading photographs and signatures.
- Step 11: Candidates can now complete the remaining sections of the application form by providing the required information.
- Step 12: Before you click on the button ‘COMPLETE REGISTRATION’, click the preview tab to preview and verify the whole application form.
- Step 13: Make any necessary changes, then click ‘COMPLETE REGISTRATION’ only after double-checking that the photograph, signature, and other information you entered are correct.
- Step 14: Go to the ‘Payment’ tab and make your payment. The payment can be made through any of the debit cards, credit cards, IMPS, internet banking, UPI payments and mobile wallets like G-Pay, phonepe, Paytm, etc.
- Step 15: Press the ‘Submit’ button.
ESIC UDC 2023 Application Fees
Candidates are required to pay the application fee after filling out the application form. The application fee for the general and BC category students is Rs. 500 and female candidates, departmental candidates, scheduled caste and scheduled tribe candidates, PWDs, and ex-servicemen candidates are allowed to pay Rs. 250.
