Exam Summary

Goa Police SI exams 2022 is conducted by Goa Police Recruitment Board between the age group 20-28 years with some age relaxation for SC/ST/Children of Freedom Fighters, OBC, SC/ST Sportsperson, OBC Sportsperson, PWD, SC/ST Person with Disability, OBC Person with Disability, Ex-servicemen. Selection of candidates for Police SI will be made in four stages mentioned below.

The venue for the different tests will be announced by the Goa Police Depart on the Official Link. The exam is conducted in different centres of Goa.

Selection Process

Candidates aspiring for Goa Police Sub-Inspector Post 2022 need to go through four stages of the test. The candidate will be eligible for the next round after achieving qualifying marks in each recruitment round.

Stages of Exam

Stage 1: Verification Application and Document

Application with the prescribed format needs to be submitted on or before the last date of submision to the Police Headquarters, Panaji, Goa. The duly submitted applications are verified for the following documents:

The candidates verified for original documents are shortlisted for the Physical measurements. 

The incomplete applications and applications submitted after the due date are rejected with any information.

The candidates who fail to submit the original documents are eliminated from the examination procedure.

Stage 2: Physical Test

The Police requirement Board will conduct the separate Physical test for the selected candidates in the different exam centres. 

For the male candidates, physical tests will be done for height, unexpanded chest and expanded chest. The required physical measurements for the male candidates is mentioned in the table given below:

For the female candidates, physical tests will be done for height and weight. The required physical measurements for the female candidates are mentioned in the table given below:

Stage 3: Physical Efficiency Test
The Physical test does not carry any marks, but it will qualify for the next level of test, i.e., Physical Efficiency Test.

Physical Efficiency Test Male: Candidates qualified in the Physical Test go through the four levels of Physical efficiency test, i.e., 100-meter run, long jump, high jump and 800-meter run. The criteria to qualify for the exam is provided in the table given below:

The candidates who fulfil the criteria given in the table are qualified for the next level of requirement procedure, i.e., written test.

The test will be conducted for a maximum of 100 marks with 2 hours time duration.

Preparation Tips

The Police requirement Board, Goa, is conducting the Goa Police Sub-Inspector Examination 2022 to recruit suitable candidates for the post of Goa Police Sub-Inspector. The Selection Process comprises four stages: Verification application and documents, Physical test, Physical efficiency test, and Written exam.

Candidates are recommended to study the Goa Police Sub-Inspector syllabus completely in order to plan and qualify for their examination with a high score. Here are some recommendations for clearing the GD Constable exam.

  • To be eligible for the written examination, candidates must pass the first three stages of the examination, namely Verification application and documents, Physical test, and Physical efficiency test. Therefore, candidates should fill the application form without any error.
  • Candidates must submit all the original documents during the verification of documents.
  • To pass the physical efficiency test, candidates must practice 100 meter run, high jump, long jump, and 400/800 run well in advance.

Dos and Donts of Form Filling

The candidates of Goa or candidates residing in Goa for the last 15 years, having residence certificate issued by the competent Authority, Government of Goa are eligible for the application for the post of the Goa Police Sub-Inspector. 

Candidates can collect the application form in the prescribed format from the Administrative Block, GRP Camp, Altinho, Panaji, Goa between 10 am to 5 pm on all the working days by producing the Caste/Category Certificate. The application form and examination fee of the various category is as follows:

The age limit for the Goa Police Sub-inspector exam is 20 to 28 years as of April 30, 2022. Candidates should not have been born earlier than May 05, 1993 and later than April 30, 2022. But there is certain age relaxation for some categories. Permissible relaxations in the upper age limit for different categories are:

Eligibility for Sportsperson

  1. Candidates must participate in State or Nation in a National or International competition in any one of the games/ sports mentioned in the above list.
  2. Candidates must participate in the Inter-University tournament conducted by the Inter-University Sports Board in any one of the games/sports mentioned in the above list.
  3. Candidates must represent the State level team in national sports/games conducted by the All India School Games Federation in any one of the games/sports mentioned in the above list.
  4. National Award winner in Physical Efficiency under National Physical Efficiency drive.

Number of Attempts

All candidates of the Goa Police Sub-Inspector Post are eligible to write the exam as many times as they like until they reach the maximum allowable age restriction, which is 28 years. Candidates from reserved categories are eligible to apply until their respective categories' maximum age limit is reached.

Language Proficiency

Candidates must be proficient in the language English and Konkani. The written examination will be conducted in English only.

  • The candidates shortlisted based on the application form are tested for Physical measurement. The selected candidates are informed through the call letter for the next level of examination, i.e. Physical Efficiency Test.
  • The candidates selected in the Physical Efficiency Test undergo the last stage of examination, i.e., written examination. 
  • Selected candidates of written examination will undergo training for a specific period.

Cut-off Score

Candidates should score 35 marks out-off 100 marks in the written examination. The pass percentage of the written examination is 35%.

NCC Certificate holder candidates will be granted the following bonus marks, which will be added to the written exam scores of the candidates:

NCC ‘C’ Certificate 5% of the maximum marks of the examination
NCC ‘B’ Certificate 3% of the maximum marks of the examination
