IGNOU B.Ed Courses Eligibility Criteria

The IGNOU BEd eligibility criteria have been defined by the exam conducting authority of the IGNOU. It is important for the candidates to check whether the candidate is eligible enough to apply and study or not. The criterion is the minimum requirement that a candidate should meet in order to apply for admission in a particular course. Here is the criterion for the candidate’s reference.

  1. Candidates should have 50% in aggregate either  in the Bachelor’s Degree and/or in the Master’s Degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/Commerce/Humanity
  2. If Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology, candidate should have specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent 
  3. Candidate who is Trained in-service teachers in elementary education is also eligible 


Candidates who have completed an NCTE recognized teacher education programme through face-to-face mode

  1. The reservation and relaxation of 5% marks in minimum eligibility will be provided to SC/ST/OBC (Non creamy layer)/PWD candidates as per the rules of the Central Government
  2. Reservation to Kashmiri Migrants and war widow candidates will be provided as per the University Rules

IGNOU B.Ed Courses – Application Form

Candidates cannot appear for the entrance exam without filling the application form. The application form can be filled and submitted via online mode.   1. Visit the official website of the University
  2. Register on the website and note down the system generated an application number
  3. Fill in the online application form
  4. Upload asked documents
  5. Submit application and pay the application fee 
  6. Confirmation page will appear on the screen
  7. Download the confirmation page and save it or future use

IGNOU B.Ed Courses – Application Fee

The amount of the application fee was rupees 600 which can be paid through Credit/Debit cards or Net Banking. The amount of the application fee was non-refundable. 

IGNOU B.Ed Course Admit Card

The authorities release admit cards for candidates who successfully fill the application form. The admit card is an important document for candidates to bring on the exam date as no candidate will be allowed to appear for the exam without it.

Steps to download the admit card:

  1. Visit the official website of NTA
  2. Click on the link- Hall Ticket for B.Ed Entrance Exam 2020
  3. A window will appear on the screen with the admit card

The candidate can follow any of these methods:

Method 1:

  1. Enter the name filled n the application form
  2. Search name and enrolment number form the t that appears on the screen
  3. Click on Enrolment Number and print the admit card
  4. Attach the photograph on the admit card
  5. Get the photograph attested from a Gazetted Officer
  6. Carry the admit card to the test centre on the exam day

Method 2:

  1. Enter the 9 digit Enrolment Number.
  2. Admit cards will appear on the screen.
  3. Save and print the admit card.
  4. Attach a photograph on the admit card.
  5. Get the photograph attested from a Gazetted Officer
  6. Carry the admit card to the test centre on the exam day.


  1. It is mandatory for candidates to carry their admit cards and other relevant documents
  2. Candidates are advised to carry valid ID proof 
  3. The admit card will be issued only for the successfully registered applicants
  4. Candidates should check the instructions printed on the admit card
  5. Candidates lease note that the photograph to be affixed on the admit card should be duly attested by a Gazetted Officer

IGNOU B.Ed Exam Pattern

The entrance exam of IGNOU B.Ed 2022 is an online-based exam. The questions that will be asked will be multiple choice questions out of which the right answers will have to be marked. Subject Awareness:

This section of subject awareness will consist of 20 questions. Candidates will be expected to answer the questions based on their knowledge and educational background in Class 12th. Subject options and their respective syllabus will be as follows.

  1. Science: In his subject candidate should have the knowledge of Physics, Chemistry & Biology
  2. Social Studies: In his subject candidate should have the knowledge of History, Geography, Political Science, Social Science, Current affairs, etc
  3. Mathematics: In his subject candidate should have the knowledge of Arithmetics, Number system, simplification, Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry
  4. English/Hindi: In his subject candidate should have the knowledge of Grammar, Reading Ability, Word Usage, etc

IGNOU B.Ed Result

The result of the entrance is released on the official website of NTA (National Testing Agency) on behalf of Indira Gandhi National Open University. Here are some steps which a candidate can note down to download the result.

  2. Find the ‘Results’ in Examination Tab
  3. Click on B.Ed 2022 Results
  4. A page for entering information for viewing results will appear on the screen
  5. Choose program B.Ed and enter the 9 digit Enrolment Number
  6. The result will appear on the screen
  7. Download and tae the print out of the same for future use

IGNOU B.Ed Counselling

The counselling process of Indira Gandhi National Open University B.Ed Admission would be conducted at various regional centres. 

  1. To be a part of the counselling session candidates need to be shortlisted based on the marks obtained in entrance exam
  2. The authorities of Indira Gandhi National Open University organises counselling sessions at various regional centres depending on the option provided by the student while filling the entrance application form
  3. In case there is vacant seat after the first round of counselling, further counselling rounds would be conducted at the relevant centres
  4. Candidates please note that the self attested copies of various documents have to be submitted at the centre on the day of counselling session
