KVPY Selection Procedure

Earlier, students had to go through the following two stages of the examination to avail of the fellowship.

1. Aptitude Test
2. Personal Interview

75% of the scores in the aptitude exam will be weighted, and 25% will be based on the performance in the interview stage. We shall go over the Aptitude Test and Interview in further detail here:

1. KVPY Aptitude Test: The Aptitude Test is divided into Part 1 and Part 2, each of which contains four sections. Aspirants must attempt any three Part 1 sections and any other in the Part 2 section. To crack the KVPY selection procedure, students must finish their strong topics.
2. KVPY Interview Process: The KVPY Interview Process is used to evaluate your scientific knowledge to determine whether you are eligible for a scholarship. Candidates capable of conducting research are finally shortlisted after an interview process under the KVPY selection method. The final KVPY merit list will be compiled based on the results of the aptitude exam as well as the interview procedure.
3. KVPY Registration Form: You must bring a copy of the completed online KVPY Registration form. You may download the application form from the official website using your ID and password.
4. KVPY Admit Card: Don’t forget to bring your KVPY Admit Card and your application form.

6. Caste and Medical Certificate: You must also have a certified caste and medical certificate with you. You must also have a valid medical certificate (as per the Government of India) with you during the KVPY interview procedure.
7. Self-Appraisal Form: A self-appraisal form indicating why you deserve the KVPY scholarship will be required.

Candidates must get a Study Certificate Form from the Principal or Head of the Institution where they are enrolled in their current studies. Finally, a recommendation form from a Teacher states that the candidate has all the necessary eligibility to participate in the KVPY Interview Process.

DST decided to subsume KVPY with INSPIRE. Beginning in 2022, the KVPY aptitude test will no longer be administered. Existing KVPY fellows will continue to receive their fellowship as per DST standards.
