KVPY exam for all three streams has only one stage, i.e., the written test. Students who qualify for the KVPY exam will be eligible for direct admission to top institutes like IISc and various IISERs. Earlier, the KVPY had 2 stages- An aptitude Test and Interview. Based on the result of the Aptitude Test, candidates are called for the Interview process. In order to get the scholarship, students need to clear both Aptitude tests as well an Interview. The weightage of the Aptitude Test is 75%, whereas the Interview has a 25% weightage.
Candidates applying for any of the three streams should be Indian National. In addition, candidates must meet the following KVPY 2022 eligibility criteria:
Stream | KVPY Eligibility |
SA | For KVPY 2022, all those students who have passed the X standard board examination are eligible to appear for the aptitude test. The student should produce a Class XI study certificate once selected as a provisional KVPY fellow. |
SX | Candidates must clear their 10th class with at least 75% marks and for SC/PWD/ST 65% in aggregate in Mathematics and Science subjects. Applicants also have to succeed in the 10+2 examination from the Science & stream and should obtain a minimum of 60% marks and for SC/PWD/ST 50% in aggregate. |
SB | For KVPY 2021, all those students who have passed the XII board examination are eligible to appear for the aptitude test. The student should produce a study certificate of 1st year B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S. once they are selected as a provisional KVPY fellow. |
If a candidate gets to appear for the KVPY SX 2022 exam, it does not mean that his KVPY 2022 eligibility criteria are verified. Before selecting the scholarship program candidate, the concerned authorities will check and verify his eligibility criteria. It is, therefore, extremely important for candidates to check their eligibility before applying for the exam. Providing false, inaccurate, or wrong information can lead to the cancellation of the candidature at any stage of the exam.
