The National Talent Search Examination or NTSE is a scholarship exam for students in the 10th grade throughout the country. The NTSE exam is to identify outstanding students in the 10th grade and to award scholarships for their further education.

The National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is a prestigious scholarship programme for Class 10 students, and each year, over 9 to 10 lakh students apply. The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) of all States, and Union Territories will conduct the first stage of the NTSE at the state level. In contrast, the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) will conduct the second stage at the national level. NTSE Stage I – Delhi Exam Application Form 2023

States/UTs make the NTSE Stage I application form available online and also at the state liaison officer. Students must submit the NTSE 2023 application fee (if applicable in the state) with the form.

Students can download, fill, and submit the NTSE application form online or in person by following the steps outlined below:

• Download: Download the application form for NTSE Stage-I 2023 from the official website or pick it up from the State Liaison Officer.
• Filling out the application form: Students must fill out their application form and attach a recent photograph and signature in the space provided. They must submit the following information on the NTSE 2023 application form: Name of the Student, Mother’s name, Father’s name, Postal address, Caste category
• Payment of application fee: Students must pay the NTSE application fee (if required by the State/UT).
• Application form submission: NTSE application form 2023 must be submitted in the specified offline/online mode. Students must ensure that the NTSE application form is completely filled out and all required documents are attached per the instructions.
• Keep the documents ready: Students must attach the following documents to their application form. The school’s principal must attest to all documents like a recent passport-sized colour photograph and caste certificate.

Dos of NTSE Stage I - Delhi

The dos of NTSE Stage I – Delhi form filling are below:

• Click on the ‘Candidate Registration and Login’ link. Students must now click the ‘New User Click here to Register’ button to create a Login ID and Password.
• Fill out all the information and click the ‘Send OTP’ button.
• Enter the OTP and confirm the mobile number and email address.
• Login details will be displayed on the screen or emailed to the registered mobile phone number and email address.
• Use the same credentials to log in to the portal.
• Fill out and submit the remaining NTSE Delhi 2022-23 registration form.
• Pay the application fees and obtain a printout of the final form and a payment receipt.

Don'ts of NTSE Stage I - Delhi

The don’ts of NTSE Stage I – Delhi form filling process are below:

• Overwriting is not permitted on the application form. Everything must be precise.
• Authorities may reject the NTSE registration form if it contains insufficient information.
• The 4-digit centre code on the NTSE application form should be filled out by the liaison officer, concerned district official, or centre superintendent. Don’t leave out any details or make any mistakes.

The NTSE Stage I- Delhi is a two-stage selection process conducted to identify talent. While each State/UT handles the first stage of selection, the NCERT handles the national second stage.

• NTSE Stage I – Every State/UT has its own NTSE Stage-I exam. They are to set their criteria for determining candidate eligibility. This exam recommends a specific number of students for the NCERT’s second-level examination. The number of students enrolled in Classes 9 and 10 in various States/UTs is used to calculate this figure. The students get recommended based on their performance in the State/UT written examinations.
• NTSE Stage II – Students who have passed the NTSE Stage I can appear for NTSE Stage II.

Stages of NTSE Stage I – Delhi Exam

The Delhi state-level examination, NTSE Stage I, is divided into two parts: Part I- Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Part II Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) to select the required number of students for the NCERT’s second level test.

Part I Mental Ability Test (MAT)

The MAT is designed to assess students’ ability to solve reasoning problems as well as their ability to think, evaluate, and visualise. This section contains 100 questions on analytical and logical reasoning. The MAT section takes 120 minutes to complete. This section covers series, pattern perception, analogies, coding-decoding, classifications, hidden figures, and problem-solving.

Part-II Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)

The purpose of the SAT is to assess students’ understanding of theory and knowledge up to the 10th grade. As a result, the student must be familiar with the curriculum taught in Classes 9 and 10. This section includes 100 questions divided into three categories: Science (40), Social Science (40), and Mathematics (20). The time limit for the SAT section, like the MAT section, is 120 minutes. The difficulty level of the questions will be comparable to a Class 10th or equivalent exam.

NTSE Scholarship Amount

The current scheme awards scholarships to students who wish to pursue courses in science and social science up to the doctoral level, as well as professional courses such as medicine and engineering up to the masters level, subject to meeting the conditions outlined by NCERT. Today, the country awards 2000 scholarships, with 15% reserved for SC, 7.5% for ST, 27% for other backward classes, and 4% for students with benchmark disabilities. The NCERT provides a scholarship to selected NTSE Stage II students.

The NCERT does not provide a specific NTSE Syllabus. However, the questions in this exam are very similar to those found in Classes 9 and 10. Students must study from their 9th and 10th-grade syllabus to get good grades.
