To be eligible for the NIACL Assistant post, candidates must be either:
Citizens of India
Subjects of Nepal
Subjects of Bhutan
Tibetan refugees who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of settling permanently in India.
A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Candidates must note that eligibility points 2 to 5 will only be considered if they hold an eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India.

NIACL Assistant Educational Qualification
The following are the educational qualification requirements for candidates applying for NIACL Assistant:
Candidates must have a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university or any equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government.
They should have passed English as one of the subjects at the SSC/ HSC/ Intermediate/ Graduation level.
Aspirants must possess a certificate implying that they have passed the qualifying exam as of the date of registration.
Applicants should be proficient (read, write, and speak) in the regional language of the State/ UT for which they apply.
