RBI Assistant Prelims Eligibility 2023: Age Limit, Qualification

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is an apex body which regulates multiple banking and non-banking services. A statutory authority formed through the Reserve Bank of India Act in 1935. It conducts the RBI assistant exam every year with the intent to recruit candidates for assistant posts in the various branches of RBI across India. The selection process is based on prelims, mains and Language proficiency tests (LPT). 

The official notification for RBI assistant prelims is expected to be released on January 2023. RBI Assistant Prelims Eligibility Criteria 2023

The detailed eligibility criteria for the RBI assistant exam are given below: 

Nationality: 

  • A candidate must be a citizen of India. 
  • A Subject of Nepal, Bhutan, a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962, to permanently settle in India. 
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and East African countries like Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia, Malawi, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with an intention to permanently settle in India is eligible to apply.

RBI Assistant Eligibility – Age Limit 

The Age of the candidate must range between 20-28 years to be eligible to apply for the exam. There is an age relaxation for the candidates belonging to reserved categories granted by the Government of India. RBI Assistant Eligibility – Educational Qualifications

The minimum educational qualifications required to apply for the RBI assistant prelims exam are as follows: 

  • Candidates must be a graduate in any discipline with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. 
  • They must have a basic knowledge of computers. 
  • For the candidates belonging to the ex-serviceman category 
  1. Graduation from a recognised university. 
  2. Matriculation or equivalent examination of the armed forces with a minimum of 15 years of service in defence. 
  • Candidates must be proficient in the state’s language. They must know to read, write and speak the language. It is also important to understand the language. 

RBI Assistant Eligibility – Scheme of Selection

The selection process for the RBI assistant exam is on the basis of prelims, mains and language proficiency test (LPT). 

  • The prelims consist of three sections: Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English language
  • The Mains consists of 5 sections: Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English language, Computers and General Awareness.
  • There is a negative marking for wrong answers but however, but no marks will be deducted for unattempted questions.
