RBI Grade B Eligibility Criteria: Nationality

According to the RBI Officer Grade B Phase 1 Eligibility set by the RBI, the candidate must fulfil the below criteria.

  • A candidate must be an Indian Citizen
  • A subject of Nepal/Bhutan
  • Tibetan refugees who came to India before January 1, 1962, intending to settle in this country permanently.
  • A candidate must be of Indian origin and has migrated from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Burma, East African countries of the United Republic of Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia, Uganda, Zaire, Malawi, Ethiopia, and Vietnam to settle in India permanently.

RBI Grade B Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualifications

Candidates interested in the RBI Grade B Phase 1 exam must note the educational criteria for its recruitment process. Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) –DEPRA Master’s Degree in Economics or Econometrics or Quantitative Economics or Mathematical Economics or Integrated Economics Course Finance, with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent marks in all semesters or years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University or Institute; OR PGDM or MBA Finance with minimum 55% marks or an equivalent marks in aggregate of all semesters or years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University or Institute; OR Master’s Degree in Economics in any of the sub-categories of economics including agricultural or business or developmental or applied, etc., with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters or years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University or Institute.
Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) –DSIMA Master’s Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/ Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years; OR Master’s Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years and a one-year postgraduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from an institute of repute; OR M. Stat. degree of Indian Statistical Institute with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of all semesters/years OR Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur, and IIM Calcutta with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years.
