RBI Grade B (General) Exam Pattern 2023

Phase I is the first round of the recruitment process. The exam pattern for RBI Grade B (General) is given below:

RBI Grade B Phase 1 Exam Pattern

  • The Phase 1/Prelims Exam will be an objective-type test.
  • Candidates must prepare for 4 sections, i.e., Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, English Language and General Awareness.
  • The Phase-1 exam is qualifying in nature, and the marks scored in this exam will not be considered for preparing the final merit list.
  • There will be a total of 200 questions comprising 200 marks in the examination.
  • The total duration of the exam will be 120 minutes.
  • 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer in the Phase-1 examination.

The examination will be conducted in multiple shifts. The corrected scores secured by the candidates will be normalized using the equipercentile method.

RBI Grade B Phase 2 Exam Pattern 2023

Find the RBI Grade B (General) Phase 2 paper pattern below:

  • The RBI Grade B Mains/Phase-2 examination will consist of objective- and descriptive-type questions.
  • The final merit list will be prepared based on the scores obtained in the Phase-2 examination.
  • Except for the English Language section, the paper for all other sections will be set in English and Hindi.
  • A total of 3 sections will comprise a total of 300 marks overall.

The RBI Grade B (DEPR) Exam is conducted in three phases.

  • Phase I consists of one objective-type paper on economics.
  • The time duration for Paper I is 120 minutes.
  • This paper is scoring in nature. The result of Paper I is considered in the final result.
  • Candidates scoring minimum marks in Paper I will be shortlisted for Paper II and Paper III.
  • Phase II consists of 2 papers.
  • Paper II is a descriptive type paper on Economics, and Paper III is a descriptive type paper on English.
  • The time duration for Paper II and Paper III is 180 minutes and 90 minutes, respectively.
  • Candidates scoring minimum cut-off marks in Paper I will be shortlisted for Paper II and Paper III.
  • The Paper II and III exams will be conducted in shifts.
  • The question paper will be set in Hindi and English.
  • Phase III is an interview round, which is scored out of 75 marks.

The RBI Grade B (DSIM) Exam is conducted in three phases.

  • Phase I consists of one objective-type paper on Statistics.

  • This paper is scoring in nature. The result of Paper I is considered in the final result.
  • Candidates scoring minimum marks in Paper I will be shortlisted for Paper II and Paper III.
  • Phase II consists of 2 papers.
  • Paper II is a descriptive type paper on Statistics, and Paper III is a descriptive type paper on English.
  • The time duration for Paper II and Paper III is 180 minutes and 90 minutes, respectively.

Candidates may note down the following points related to the RBI Grade B paper pattern:

  • The time duration for Paper I is 120 minutes.

RBI Grade B Marking Scheme 2023

There is an RBI Grade B negative marking for wrong answers in the objective tests, i.e., Phase I and Phase II. 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. No marks will be deducted for the question left unanswered or blank. Never ever blind guesses in the examination. Just keep in mind the RBI Grade B negative marking. Solve the questions confidently and then just make sure that the answer is correct.

Total Score = (1*Number of correct answers) – (1/4 * number of incorrect responses).

RBI Grade B Interview 2023

Candidates can check the interview exam pattern of RBI Grade B as mentioned below:

  • Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview based on the aggregate of marks obtained in Phase 2 (Paper I + Paper II + Paper III).
  • The bank will decide the minimum aggregate cut-off marks to qualify for an interview in relation to the number of vacancies.
  • RBI will declare the roll numbers of candidates shortlisted for the interview on the official website at an appropriate time.
  • RBI will send interview call letters to the registered email ID.
  • The total marks allotted for the interview are 75 marks.
  • Candidates may opt for an interview either in Hindi or English.
  • RBI will prepare the final selection through the merit list. Furthermore, the bank will prepare the merit list by adding marks secured by candidates in Phase II and interviews.

RBI Grade B Pre-examination Training

The Pre-examination training option is available for certain categories, i.e., SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates. RBI will organise of cost, online pre-examination training for Phase-I and Phase-II examinations. Candidates who wish to utilize the training programme have to indicate their interest while filling the online application form. However, undergoing the training will not give the candidate any right to attend the examination or any advantage in securing recruitment in the bank.
