RBI Grade B Eligibility Criteria Details 2023
The RBI has set certain requirements for candidates to be eligible for the RBI Grade B exam. The different parameters on which the RBI will check eligibility are educational qualification, nationality, and age limit. Moreover, this eligibility criteria is for all three posts under Grade B. The posts under Grade B are as follows:
General (DR) – Generalist cadre who works around all departments.
DEPR (DR) – Research officer for the Department of Economic Policy and Research.
DSIM (DR) – Statistician for the Department of Statistics and Information Management.
Steps to Access the RBI Grade B Phase 1 Mock Tests for FREE?
Here are the steps that candidates must follow to attempt the mock tests for free:
1st Step: Visit Embibe’s official website, i.e., embibe.com.
2nd Step: Use the mobile number/email to log in.
3rd Step: Click on the menu bar “Getting a Government Job”

RBI Grade B Eligibility Criteria: Nationality
According to the RBI Officer Grade B Phase 1 Eligibility requirement set by the exam conducting body, the candidates must fulfill the below criteria:
The candidate must be a citizen of India or
A subject of Nepal/Bhutan or
Tibetan refugees who came to India before January 1, 1962, intending to settle in this country permanently. Or
A candidate must be of Indian origin and has migrated from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Burma, East African countries of the United Republic of Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia, Uganda, Zaire, Malawi, Ethiopia, and Vietnam to settle in India permanently.
RBI Grade B Eligibility Criteria: Age Limit
The minimum age limit for the exam is 21, and the maximum age limit is 30. There is a relaxation in the upper age limit for candidates belonging to reserved categories:

RBI Grade B Eligibility Criteria: Educational Qualification
The officials introduced a major change in the norms of the RBI Grade B eligibility criteria. Earlier, it was mandatory to hold a certain minimum percentage in Classes 10 and 12 to apply for the RBI Grade B exam. However, from now on, there are no such minimum percentage criteria for the 10th and 12th standards.
Education Qualification for Officers in Grade B (DR) – General
Graduation in any discipline /Equivalent technical or professional qualification with a minimum of 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD applicants). OR
Post-Graduation / Equivalent technical qualification with a minimum of 55% marks (pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) in aggregate of all semesters/years.
Education Qualification for Officers in Grade B (DR) – DEPR
Essential: A Master’s Degree in Economics/ Econometrics/ Quantitative Economics/ Mathematical Economics/ Integrated Economics Course/ Finance, with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC, ST, and PwBD candidates) or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/ years from a recognized Indian or Foreign University/Institute.
Preferred: A Doctorate Degree in Economics or research or teaching experience in Economics or publications in standard journals would be considered as an additional qualification.
Education Qualification for Officers in Grade B DR – DSIM
Master’s Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/ Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years; OR
Master’s Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years and a one-year postgraduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from an institute of repute; OR
M. Stat. Degree of Indian Statistical Institute with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of all semesters/years OR
Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur, and IIM Calcutta with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years.
RBI Grade B Eligibility Criteria: Number of Attempts
General Category candidates can appear for the exam six times. This rule is not applicable to the SC/ST/OBC/PwBD category candidates.
