Railway Recruitment Board conducts the Railway Recruitment Board’s Non-Technical Popular Categories (RRB NTPC) exam to select candidates for Graduate and Undergraduate posts under Non-Technical Popular Categories in various zonal railways and production units. Candidates who have completed their graduation or have passed Class 12 can apply for the RRB NTPC posts.

RRB NTPC CBT 2 Eligibility Criteria 2025
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) will release the necessary eligibility criteria for RRB Non-Technical Popular Categories along with the awaited notification. Candidates are advised to go through the eligibility criteria thoroughly in order to fill out the application form and avoid rejection at later stages. The eligibility criteria will be based on the following requirements– Nationality, Educational Qualification and Age.
Age Criteria
- Candidates applying for Undergraduate-level posts must be between 18 to 30 years of age.
- Those applying for Graduate level posts must be between 18 to 33 years of age.

Nationality
A candidate must be either:
- A legal citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- A subject of Bhutan, or
- A refugee from Tibet who came over to India before January 1, 1962, intending to settle in India permanently, or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zaire, Ethiopia, Zambia, Malawi, and Vietnam to settle in India permanently.
- Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (2), (3), (4) and (5) above shall be a person in whose favour an eligibility certificate has been issued by the Government of India. A candidate for whom a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination, but the offer of appointment may be given only after the required eligibility certificate has been duly issued to him by the Government of India.

Education Qualification
Candidates who have passed class 12th or an undergraduate examination in any stream are eligible to apply for the exam.
Number of Attempts
There is no restriction on the number of attempts for the examination. A candidate can compete for any number of times as long as the age limit permits.
Language Proficiency
Hindi, English, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Marathi, Manipuri, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu will be used in the RRB NTPC Computer Based Tests.

- Payment can be made online using internet banking, UPI or debit/credit cards.
Candidates can also pay the fee using the SBI challan or the post office challan payment method.
- Candidates belonging to minority communities like Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains and Zoroastrians (Parsis) etc., who wish to avail a waiver of examination fee will be required to furnish a Minority Community Declaration affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper at the time of document verification mentioning that they belong to any of the above minority communities. Otherwise, their application will not be considered.
- Economically Backward Class (EBC) candidates must produce a valid income certificate on the date of application in the format prescribed or on the letterhead of the issuing authority to this effect before filling in the application and submitting the same at the time of document verification.
- The examination fee, once paid, will not be refunded even if the application remains incomplete or is rejected.

RRB NTPC CBT 2 Exam Pattern 2025
Candidates who pass all four phases of the screening process will be considered for various positions advertised in the Railway Recruitment Board NTPC 2025 announcement. The selection process will consist of four phases:
- RRB NTPC CBT-1 exam
- RRB NTPC CBT-2 exam
- Typing skill test/Computer-based aptitude test
- Document verification and medical test
Computer-based Aptitude Test (CBAT) for RRB NTPC CBT 2
Candidates must get a minimum score of 42 on each of the tests to be considered qualified. This applies to all candidates, regardless of community or category, and no exceptions to the minimum T-Score are allowed. Candidates must pass each of the CBAT test batteries in order to be considered for the position of SM/TA. Only English and Hindi will be available for questions and answers on the CBAT. In CBAT, there will be no negative marking. Only applicants who pass the CBAT will be placed on a merit list, with the marks earned in the 2nd stage CBT receiving 70% of the weightage and the marks received in the CBAT receiving 30% of the weightage.

Each correct answer will earn the candidate a +1 mark, each unattempted question will carry a 0 mark, and each incorrect answer attempted by a candidate will have a -⅓(negative) mark. Candidates will have 1.5 hours to complete the paper (90 minutes). PWD candidates will have 120 minutes to complete the exam.
