As mentioned above, the SBI PO Selection Procedure involves three stages:
SBI PO Preliminary exam has 3 sections, i.e. English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning. Each section will have Multiple Choice Questions and the total time duration is 1 hour. We have tabulated the exam pattern below:

Important: There is a sectional time limit of 20 minutes for each section, and no extra time is awarded. All aspirants must complete a particular section within 20 minutes only. 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Shortlisting for Mains Exam: All candidates who successfully clear the prelim cut off released by the conducting body are selected for the Mains exam.
The Mains exam pattern for SBI PO will have 2 levels. Objective and descriptive tests and will be held on the same day.

There will be a total of 155 questions in objective test, and the maximum marks it includes is 200. The time duration of the test is 3 hours.
The Descriptive Test will be of 30 minutes duration. It will be a 50 marks test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay). This test is just qualifying in nature.
All candidates who qualify in the Mains exam will be called for a Group Discussion and Personal Interview sessions (GD-PI). The GD session will be held among 4-5 candidates where a random topic will be given, and candidates will be given a specified time wherein they will have to express their views. For the PI round, a panel of selectors will address the candidates based on their past experiences. Questions from GK, GS, and the banking sector will be asked.
After the written exams, Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds will be conducted. The conducting body will shortlist candidates based on the marks obtained by them in Mains and Interview round. They will compile a final merit list and allot branches as per the candidates’ choice preference. The allotment of the city and branch solely depends on the selectors and the conducting body.
