About SSC CPO Paper 1 2023

About Exam

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the SSC CPO exam to recruit candidates for the post of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), Assistant Sub-Inspector in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Inspector, and Sub-Inspector posts. Following the official SSC exam calendar, the Commission conducted SSC CPO Paper I from October 3 to 6, 2023.

The Commission released the official notification and online applications on July 22, 2023. Interested candidates could apply online for SSC CPO 2023 until August 15, 2023. Furthermore, they could pay the application fee online until August 15, 2023. The SSC CPO selection process includes Paper 1, PST/ PET, Paper 2, and Medical Examination.

  • Sub Inspector (Executive) in Delhi Police (Male/ Female): This post is under Level 6 of the pay scale, and it comes under Group C (Non-Gazetted) of the Delhi Police. The gross salary for this post is given by Rs.35,400 to Rs.1,12,400.
  • Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI-Executive) in CISF: This post allows a pay scale of Level 5, which is Rs.29,200 to Rs.92,300, and comes under Group C (Non-Gazetted).

SSC CPO Age Criteria

The candidates who are applying for the SSC CPO examination must be within the age limit set by the staff selection commission (SSC). However, reserved category candidates have certain age relaxation conditions. The details are given below:

  • The age of candidates should be within 20 to 25 years as of January. The exact age range will be released along with the SSC CPO notification.
  • There is certain age relaxation provided to the candidates depending on the category of candidates. The list of details of the age relaxations is tabulated below:

SSC CPO Education Qualification

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or its equivalent. Aspirants who have completed their degrees/diplomas through open and distance learning modes of education are eligible to apply for the exam. Candidates must have the educational qualification by January 01, 2023, in order to be eligible and apply.

Additional Requirements

Male candidates must have a valid Driving License for LMV (Motorcycle and Car) on the date set for Physical Endurance and Measurement Tests for the post of Sub Inspector in Delhi Police only. Candidates who do not have a valid LMV (Motorcycle and Car) driving licence are eligible for all other CAPF positions.

The Commission released the SSC CPO application form online on July 22, 2023, on its official website. Candidates could fill out the application form and pay the fee online at ssc.nic.in before August 15, 2023.

How to Apply Online for SSC CPO 2023?

  • 1st Step: Go to the official website at ssc.nic.in.
  • 2nd Step: Read the instructions and then enter the basic information asked to register. Once registered, candidates will be provided with a “Registration ID and Password“. Note them down. Use them to log in.
  • 3rd Step: Upload the scanned copies of the Photograph and Signature in JPEG/JPG format. The size of the photograph should be between 4 KB and 20 KB. The size of the signature should be between 1 KB and 12 KB.
  • 4th Step: Enter the required details in the online application form carefully.
  • 5th Step: Make a payment of the SSC CPO application fee and submit an application.
  • 6th Step: Take a printout of the same for future reference.

Important Note:

  • SSC CPO Paper 1 will be a computer-based examination conducted in online mode only.
  • There will be a total of nega200 multiple-choice questions asked in the exam.
  • The total duration of the exam is 2 hours or 120 minutes.
  • The exam will be conducted in two languages: Hindi and English.
  • There is a negative marking of 1/3rd marks for every incorrect answer.

Physical Endurance Test (PET)
