About Exam

The AP Board, officially known as the Directorate of Government Examinations, is responsible for conducting the senior secondary education system in the state of Andhra Pradesh. It was set up in 1953. The board is responsible for course study planning, AP Board Class 11 exam syllabus structure, notification, exam administration, and giving direction, support, and leadership to all senior secondary institutions under the AP board. AP Board conducts Class 11 exams also known as AP Intermediate first year respectively.

This board is an autonomous department and usually carries out its duties via its head office located in Hyderabad and other regional offices in the state. The AP Board devises the Class 11 syllabus to help students understand all the concepts and enhance their reasoning and problem-solving skills. Class 11 AP results are announced on June 22, 2022 and students can check the results on the official website.

Andhra Pradesh Board Class 11 Exam Summary

Under the Ministry of Secondary Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh, the Board of Secondary Education, Andhra Pradesh (BSEAP) is in charge of the management and development of secondary school education in Andhra Pradesh.

Similarly, the Board of Intermediate Education of Andhra Pradesh conducts the Class 11 Exam (BIEAP). In 1971, the Andhra Pradesh Education Board was established with the goal of regulating and overseeing secondary education in the state.

The BIEAP prescribes the syllabus and course curriculum for 11th-grade students as part of its responsibilities. The annual board exams for Classes 11 and 12 are also held by the board.

  • Study and description of three locally available common flowering plants, one from each of the families Solanaceae, Fabaceae and Liliaceae (Poaceae, Asteraceae or Brassicaceae can be substituted in case of particular geographical location) including dissection and display of floral whorls, anther and ovary to show a number of chambers (floral formulae and floral diagrams). 
    Types of root (Tap and adventitious); stem (herbaceous and woody); leaf (arrangement, shape, venation, simple and compound).
  • Preparation and study of T.S. of dicot and monocot roots and stems (primary). 
  • Study of osmosis by potato osmometer. 
  • Study of plasmolysis in epidermal peels (e.g. Rhoeo leaves).

(a) Any one of the following experiments:

  • Study the pH change in the titration of a strong base using a universal indicator. 

(b) Study the pH change by common-ion in case of weak acids and weak bases.

  • Study the shift in equilibrium between ferric ions and thiocyanate ions by increasing/decreasing the concentration of either of the ions.

D. Quantitative Estimation

  • Using a chemical balance. 
  • Preparation of standard solution of Oxalic acid. 
  • Determination of strength of a given solution of Sodium Hydroxide by titrating it against a standard solution of Oxalic acid. 
  • Preparation of standard solution of Sodium Carbonate. 
  • Determination of strength of a given solution of Hydrochloric acid by titrating it against standard Sodium Carbonate solution.

E. Qualitative Analysis

  • Determination of one anion and one cation in a given salt 
  • Cations-Pb2+, Cu2+, Al3+, Fe3+, Mn2+, Ni2+, Zn2+, Co2+, Ca2+, Sr2+, Ba2+, Mg2+, [NH4]+

Project:

Scientific investigations involve laboratory testing and collecting information from other sources. A few suggested projects are:

  • Checking the bacterial contamination in drinking water by testing sulphide ions. 
  • Study of the methods of purification of water. 
  • Testing the hardness, presence of Iron, Fluoride, chloride, etc., depending upon the regional variation in drinking water and study of causes of presence of these ions above permissible limit (if any). 
  • Investigation of the foaming capacity of different washing soaps and the effect of addition of Sodium Carbonate on it. 
  • Study the acidity of different samples of tea leaves. 
  • Determination of the rate of evaporation of different liquids. 
  • Study the effect of acids and bases on the tensile strength of fibres. 
  • Study of acidity of fruit and vegetable juices.

Note: Any other investigatory project, which involves about 10 periods of work, can be chosen with the approval of the teacher.

  • To find the downward force, along an inclined plane, acting on a roller due to the gravitational pull of the earth and study its relationship with the angle of inclination (θ) by plotting a graph between force and sinθ.

  • To make a paper scale of given least count, e.g. 0.2cm, 0.5 cm. 
  • To determine the mass of a given body using a metre scale by the principle of moments. 
  • To plot a graph for a given set of data, with proper choice of scales and error bars. 
  • To measure the force of limiting friction for the rolling of a roller on a horizontal plane. 
  • To study the variation in the range of a Projectile with the angle of projection. 
  • To study the conservation of energy of a ball rolling down on an inclined plane (using a double inclined plane). 
  • To study the dissipation of energy of a simple pendulum by plotting a graph between square of amplitude and time.

SECTION-B Experiments

  • To determine young’s modulus of a given wire by using Searle’s apparatus. 
  • To find out the spring constant of a helical spring from its load-extension graph. 
  • To study the variation in volume (V) with pressure (P) for a sample of air at a constant temp. by plotting graphs between P&V and between P & 1/V. 
  • To determine the surface tension of water by capillary rise method. 
  • To determine the coefficient of viscosity of a given liquid by measuring the terminal volume of the spherical body. 
  • To study the relationship between the temperature of a hot body and time by plotting a cooling curve. 
  • To determine the specific heat capacity of a given (i) solid (ii) liquid by method of mixtures. 
  • To study the relation between frequency and length of a given wire under constant tension using a sonometer. 
  • To study the relation between the length of a given wire and tension for constant frequency using a sonometer. 
  • To find the speed of sound in air at room temperature using a resonance tube by two-resonançe positions.
