CBSE New Rules for Class 10: CBSE makes adjustments to its exam pattern or the marking system as per the current education requirements. CBSE Guidelines for Class 10 Exams

Keeping in view the safety of the students, the Board has decided to implement certain precautionary health measures. Students will have to follow the rules and regulations issued by the Board. Some of the CBSE guidelines for the Class 10 exam are as follows:

  • COVID-19 safety precautions, such as wearing masks, using sanitisers, and keeping social distance throughout the exam, are required for everybody.
  • To prevent last-minute stress, they arrive at the exam venue one hour before the commencement.
  • CBSE has advised schools overseas that only 24 students would be allowed in a single room, and two centre superintendents will be deputed in one room.
  • To uncover unfair means during tests at centres, modern data analytics, CCTV, and external observers/flying squads will be used.
  • For the CBSE Class 10 academic session 2022-23, the board has decided to resume the earlier Class 10 board exam pattern and cancel the two-term exam system.
  • Each exam paper will be 3 hours in duration.
  • Students must reach the exam destination around half hour before the scheduled time to prevent any unwanted delays.
  • Questions will include situation-based, case-based, open-ended, short-answer, and long-answer type questions.
  • Total marks in each subject will be 100. The theory section will be for 80 marks and the remaining 20 marks will be given for practicals and internal assessment.
  • The theory papers will consist of the following type of questions with their respective weightage of marks:
    1. Very Short Answer Questions – 1 mark each 
    2. Short Answer Type Questions I – 2 marks each
    3. Short Answer Type Questions II – 3 marks each 
    4. Value-based Questions – 4 marks
  • Long Answer Type Questions – 5 marks each
  • There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.

  • Other detailed guidelines with regards to the things that are allowed for students to be carried to the exam centres, entry and exit guidelines, and spaced seating arrangements in line with the social distancing norms, will be listed on CBSE admit card to be issued to students.
