Preparation Tips

  • You can make a schedule for yourself to ensure that you finish the exam syllabus on time. You may also select a more convenient time for yourself to begin studying and ensure that you take sufficient breaks in between.
  • Go through the Manipur Board 12th curriculum and make a list of the topics on which you should concentrate. Looking through the exam syllabus will provide you with an overview of the key concepts, which will help you get a head start on your studies.
  • As much as possible, practise sample papers and previous year’s question papers.
  • Important subjects, formulae, acronyms, and other information can also be written. This will come in handy when it comes time to revise.
  • Read the question paper attentively throughout the exam because many students prefer to go right into answering the questions and miss critical facts. As a result, take your time reading the paper.
  • If you get stuck with a question, you can skip it and go on to the next one.
  • Avoid making silly mistakes like converting to the correct decimal places or forgetting to include the SI units at the conclusion of your response. You will lose marks throughout the examination if you commit these little errors.

Exam Taking Strategy

  • Concentrate hard and study: To succeed in the Manipur Board HSLC examinations, hard effort, confidence, and attention are required; nevertheless, intelligent study makes the process much easier. Instead of starting with less important topics, break down the previous year’s question paper to make sense of the most significant themes and put them up first.
  • Analyse Exam Pattern and Prepare a Daily Routine: Make a daily schedule based on the exam that allows you to cover all the courses. Start with the most crucial ideas, questions, recommendations, and subjects and work your way down to the less important ones. Make a note of what you’ve learned so you don’t forget anything.
  • Know Your Syllabus and Prepare Questions Accordingly: The majority of students in the school make the mistake of not paying attention to the timetable and syllabus. Before you begin studying for the exam, go through the whole curriculum and timetable.
  • Search for Important Books: To gain an advantage over the competition, emphasis on point-by-point explanations and tentative questions, which may be found in other reference books, are commonly required during classroom preparation.
  • Kick Start the Planning and Preparation Early: The key to efficiently preparing for an exam is to get started as soon as possible. Procrastination will simply lead to a difficult and time-consuming mugging session in order to pass the exam. So make a timetable, set daily goals, and keep to it consistently. While studying for Class X exams, proper planning and time management will help you save time in the end. Set aside time for each subject, both for the initial reading and modifications.
  • Stick to Extensive Reading of Course Materials: One of the most common mistakes students make is to ignore the syllabus and rely only on the notes that are passed around the classroom. When you’re preparing for your exams, make sure you read every chapter first.
  • Habituate Yourself to Refer to Self-prepared Notes: Although not often practised, taking notes on your own might assist you in gaining a thorough knowledge of the subject. It has the potential to save you a significant amount of time spent mugging. In addition, one’s notes may be quite useful in last-minute preparations. It has the potential to be quick and effective.
  • Maintain the Study Schedule: This generation’s children are unquestionably the most technologically advanced. It’s also one of the most common sources of distraction. As a result, it is critical to maintaining strong discipline while following your study programme.
  • Appear for Preliminary Examinations and Mock exams: Before taking the final exam, take the practice exams and preliminary exams. It will considerably aid in speeding up the writing process. It also assists in enhancing the presentation of the paper and overall exam performance. It helps you become more comfortable with the types of questions and the pattern. As a result, even if you have slight difficulties when taking the exam, you will not be discouraged.
  • Refer and Solve the Question Papers of Previous Attempts: Examine previous year’s question papers. Familiarize yourself with the paper’s layout. You’ll be aware of the kind of inquiries that could be posed. You could get lucky and be offered a question that has already been asked in another attempt. Solving past question papers, in addition to frequent practise and reading, is critical.
  • Organize Study Groups and Seek External Aid: Offer assistance to your classmates and organise group study sessions. Group study sessions might be beneficial. It might assist you in resolving any type of trouble you’re having with any of your subjects. Keep in touch with your professors and ask for help if you face any problems when studying for the exam.
  • Maintain a Sound Lifestyle for Physical and Mental Welfare: It is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle during the examination time in order to retain physical and psychological well-being. Eat a balanced, healthy diet, and exercise regularly. Excessive consumption of processed and fried meals is not recommended. Take regular breaks to keep your mental health in check. Burnouts would be avoided, and stress levels would be reduced.

Detailed Study plan

The following are some preparation tips and methods that students might use to ace their exams:

  • Choose an Appropriate Time to Begin Board Exam Preparation: Every kid works at their own rate when it comes to learning and comprehension. Students must begin their preparations as soon as possible.
  • Maintain a Consistent Routine: Make a study timetable by allocating adequate time to each task. Get up early, eat a healthy breakfast, and then settle down to study. When studying, try not to stay up too late. Take some time to unwind and do something that will take your mind away from the examinations.
  • Try not to take on too much: Study well by avoiding having too many thoughts. Avoid addressing topics that are beyond your reach by having a defined study strategy. Instead of trying to learn everything at once, create reasonable goals for yourself. Make a study schedule for the day and attempt to stick to it. It will assist you in finishing your coursework on schedule.
  • Mix and match: You should set aside time each day to study. Make sure you don’t spend a whole day researching simple things. To get the most out of your day, start with an easy topic and then move on to a more difficult one. Gradually raise your study level as the day goes on. If studying English is easy for you but math is difficult, start your day by finishing two English chapters. After that, in the latter portion of the day, finish a chapter of math.
  • Meditation and exercise can help you enhance your concentration. It develops the mind and improves its capacity to concentrate, whereas exercise is a great method to relieve stress. It eases your mental stress. So, take a break from studying by exercising or meditating to unwind your thoughts. To relax your mind and body, go for a fifteen-minute stroll or perform yoga in the morning. Indulging in a variety of other sports activities or yoga techniques may also be beneficial.

Exam Counselling

Exam counselling

Student Counselling

The student counselling cell aims to assist students to become self-aware and realise their full potential while dealing with concern and stress. The counselling cell provides a fun and friendly environment for students to express their academic and social problems.
Students who get counselling are encouraged, supported, and provided with the skills they need to excel in school and contribute to their local and global communities. A protective strategy that emphasises being proactive in ensuring that children learn crucial skills and habits will help them thrive as people. Individual and group seminars, as well as classroom training, are used to give preventative education. This curriculum has been created to address the requirements of our children as they progress through their developmental phases.

Parent/Gaurdian counselling

Being a parent may be the most rewarding experience you will ever have. You may teach your kid life skills like how to have a conversation or how to cope with disagreement after they’ve learned to walk, talk, and even go to the potty. With so many parenting books to choose from, it’s easy to become overwhelmed (each claiming to have discovered the one ideal method to raise your child). Unlike family counselling, which has its own set of benefits, parent therapy focuses on how you, as the parent, influence the dynamics of your family.
Parent therapy employs a number of strategies or modalities to help parents better understand their natural parenting style, as well as how certain obstacles affect and perhaps change it. When a parent knows how to cope with their own personal issues, they may give their entire attention to keeping, growing, or restoring harmony in their family.
A few years ago, when a parent-child combination was granted, the counselling began with the kid. While child counselling is sometimes necessary, parents have a much better power to make behavioural changes that benefit the entire family.

Career Prospects/Which stream to choose

After class 10th, there are mainly three primary streams. Students can major in Science, Commerce, and Humanities/Arts. All three streams can be broadly classified depending on the core subjects and job fields to which they will lead you. The science stream, for example, is usually associated with medical, engineering, pharmaceutical, and other related fields of study. In contrast, the commerce stream is associated with business, trade, commerce, and the financial sector. The Humanities/Arts stream, on the other hand, is the most comprehensive, covering a wide range of subjects such as languages, political science, psychology, sociology, and much more.

Science Stream:

Those wishing to pursue professional courses after 12th class often choose the science stream. Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and Computer Science are the core subjects of the science stream. English is required among other topics, whereas the other language subjects are optional. There are also practical laboratories and theories, requiring students to put in a lot of effort.
Choosing the science path provides professional opportunities in medical and non-medical fields, such as medical science, engineering, and other interdisciplinary fields.

After Class 10, PUC (Pre-University College) is the most common choice. Before selecting on a PUC stream, a student should be aware of the following facts:

PUC is a two-year programme with one major board exam at the conclusion of the second year.

Each branch requires students to study four core courses in addition to English and a second/elective language (Kannada, Sanskrit, Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi, etc…).

Science options: It includes Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Electronics, Computer Science, Home Science, and Geology, among others.

Science Combinations:

  1. P C M B
  2. P C M Geology
  3. P C M Statistics
  4. P C M Home Science
  5. C B Home Science and Statistics
  6. C B Home Science and Computer Science
  7. P M E Computer Science
  8. P C M Computer Science
  9. P M Statistics and Computer Science
  10. P C B Computer Science
  11. P C M E
  12. P C Biology and Home Science
  13. P C E Computer Science

Note: P- Physics, C- Chemistry, M- Mathematics, B- Biology

Flexible Combinations:

If students would not want to study biology, they can choose PCME (Electronics), PCMCs (Computer Science), or PCMG (Professional Computer Management) (Geology). This qualifies them for a career in the Engineering Stream.
