  • Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on Educational Psychology and learning of children aged between 11 to 14.
  • The Language 1 section will focus on proficiency related to the medium of instruction.
  • The Language 2 section will focus on Elements of Comprehension Abilities, Language, and Communication.
  • Mathematics & Science and Social Science will test candidates’ knowledge of concepts, problem-solving skills, and pedagogical understanding of the subjects.
  • The questions will be asked based on the topics prescribed in the NCERT syllabus for Classes 6 to 8.

As already mentioned, CTET Paper 2 will consist of 150 marks and the total number of questions is 150. Now, when it comes to marking distribution, every section is allotted 30 marks each (except one section). So, candidates have to put equal emphasis on each section.

The good thing about the CTET Paper 2 selection process is that there is only one stage. Candidates only have to get the minimum qualifying marks to clear the exam. The minimum qualifying mark that candidates have to get to pass the CTET Paper 2 exam is 60 per cent.
