Previous Year Analysis

Basic pay for DRDO MTS employees ranges from Rs. 18,000 to 22,000 monthly. But in addition to the base pay, each month also includes a Dearness Allowance (DA). The base pay and dearness allowance make up the MTS employees’ monthly take-home pay. The DRDO MTS monthly in-hand salary ranges from Rs. 22,500 to 25,830. The Grade Pay is also included in this (rupees 1800). The grade pay varies depending on the location and sector.

DRDO MTS Tier I Eligibility Criteria 2023

The eligibility criteria refer to the set of important requirements that every candidate must conform to get selected for the application process. Not meeting any set eligibility criteria would lead to disqualification/ rejection of candidature.

Age Criteria for DRDO MTS Tier I

Candidate must be between the ages of 18 and 25 years.

Age Relaxation:

A) The candidate must be within the prescribed age range on the important eligibility date. The upper age limit is relaxed for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, PWD, ESM, Widows, Divorced Women & Women judicially separated from their husbands who have not remarried, Central Government Civilian Employees, Disabled Defence Services Personnel, and Persons domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir State between 01-01-1980 and 31-12-1989, as per the Government of India’s rule. SC/ST/OBC-NCL candidates seeking unreserved (UR) positions are not eligible for age relaxation. Candidates applying for UR vacancies who belong to the PWD, ESM, Central Government Civilian Employees, Disabled Defence Services Personnel, and Persons domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir State during the period 01-01-1980 to 31-12-1989 categories will receive age relaxation only for their respective categories stated above.

Education Qualification for DRDO MTS Tier I

Candidates must be Industrial Training Institute (ITI) or a 10th Class pass from a recognised board. Those awaiting final examination results as of the important eligibility date for the necessary qualification are ineligible and should not apply.

Exam counselling

The test will be divided into three stages: Tier I, Tier II and Document Verification. The test will last 90 minutes. According to the marking scheme, correct answers will carry a 1+ mark, while incorrect answers will carry no negative marks. The Tier I exam serves only as a screening tool; Tier II scores determine the final selection. The final step, i.e., document verification, is the stage where the selected candidates are called in with their documents for validation.
