DU 2021: Information Regarding Registration deadline

NEW DELHI, JULY 4 | The University of Delhi has extended the last date for registrations till July 18, 2020, for all UG, PG, Diploma, M.Phil and PhD programmes. The DU 2020 Registration extension notice reads, “All eligible applicants are informed that the last date of the online registration process of all UG, PG, M.Phil and Ph.D. programmes has been extended.” It also reads that other terms and conditions in the admission brochure will remain unchanged. The varsity has recorded as many as 489012 registrations till July 4, 2020.

DU 2020 Registrations in Numbers

According to the latest data until July 4 (8:30 pm), as many as 334148 candidates have registered for DU 2020 admissions while 220326 have the application forms for undergraduate programmes. Further, a total of 131580 registrations have been made for PG programmes of which 102986 have paid their application fees.

The online registration number for MPhil and PhD programmes were recorded 23284 while a total of 13528 applicants have paid the DU 2020 application fees.

DU 2020 Registrations Open Now

It is also necessary for the candidates to read DU eligibility criteria before filling up the application forms, as failing to fulfill it, will lead to cancellation of candidature at later stages of the admission process.

Why DU 2020 Registrations Extended?

The university officials, considering the current COVID19 situations, decided to extend the DU application deadline. “The decision of extension of the registration has been taken keeping in view of the notification of the declaration of the class 12 result by CBSE and postponement of the JEE and NEET examination,” said the varsity officials.

DU 2020 Registrations Fee

The candidates will need to pay an application fee of Rs. 250 (Rs. 100 for SC/ST/PwD/EWS Category). An additional fee of Rs. 100 will be liable if the candidate is applying under ECA/Sports Quota. The candidates applying for DUET programmes will need to pay Rs. 750 (Rs. 300 for Reserved Categories).

DU Admissions

The University of Delhi offers admissions to the UG, PG, MPhil and PhD programmes through two different modes – merit and entrance exams. Last year, as many as 2.58 lakh applications were made for the Delhi University Admissions, which recorded a dip in the number of 20000 applicants from that of 2018, which was 2.78 lakh.
