October 28, 2024The Mizoram Government adminsiters the Mizoram Board of Secondary Education (MBSE). The MBSE regulates, monitors, and designs the curriculum for the primary, secondary and higher secondary classes. The Board’s primary responsibility is to plan the academic events around the curriculum. The final exams for classes 1 to 9 are conducted at school-level, following the syllabus finalised by the Mizoram Board of Secondary Education.
The Mizoram Board Class 6 examination is held once every year by respective schools. Students must score minimum 33% in the final exam to get admission to Class 7. The Mizoram Board evaluates the students’ performance and academic development by Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE). The CCE is performed through two types of assessments: (i) Formative Assessments and (ii) Summative Assessments.
Summative Assessment: Summative assessment is conducted half-yearly as decided by the school authority, strictly adhering to the MBSE guidelines. In summative assessment, students are evaluated based on the curriculum of MBSE Class 6.
