The Commission conducts SSC JE for recruiting Junior Engineers (JE) Group-’B’ posts in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Quantity Surveying and Contract domain. SSC JE Exam Analysis 2022

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts Junior Engineer (JE) exam every year for the recruitment of Junior Engineers in various government departments and offices. The selection process involves two phases – Paper 1 and Paper 2. SSC JE Paper 1 is an online exam. The exam is objective in nature comprising 200 MCQs of 1 mark each. The total duration of the exam is 2 hours.

  • There were 50 questions from General Awareness.
  • The topics that were asked in the exam were from General Science

  • Questions were asked from Basic Electricity.
  • 01 or 02 questions were from the temperature coefficient of resistant.
  • The questions were from Kirchhoff’s Law, KCL and KVL.
  • Some of them from Network, find equivalent resistant and find capacitance.
  • There was one question from Simple Circuit where you have to find the value of current and voltage.
  • There were also questions from Network Theorems – Thevenin’s Theorem, Reciprocity Theorem and Norton’s Theorem.
  • 05 – 06 questions were from DC machines and is very simple.
  • The question was of Voltage Regulations, Open Circuit Test, and Short Circuit Test.
  • The good attempt from this section was 72-75 questions.

  • 4 to 5 questions were about Current Affairs.

  • The paper was easy but lengthy.

  • 25 questions were numerical, which is comparatively more than other shifts.
  • 5-6 questions were from Estimation and Costing.

  • There were questions from SOM, e.g. Mode of Elasticity.
  • The topics asked in the question paper are chain, soil formula, effective length of column, value of Poisson’s ratio, toughness index, etc.
