  • Total marks obtained by the aspirants in the Tier 1 exam.
  • Date of birth of the aspirants- the older candidate will be placed in a higher position.
  • Alphabetical order of the names of the aspirants.

SSC CGL Selection Process

Tier-1 CBT Exam Pattern

  • The Tier-1 exam will be a Computer-Based Test (CBT).
  • It will consist of 100 Objective Type Questions comprising 200 marks (2 marks per question).
  • The total duration of the exam will be 1 hour (60 minutes).
  • There will be 4 different sections in the Tier-1 Paper.
  • Negative marking of 0.25 marks will apply for each wrong answer.
  • The paper will be available in both English and Hindi, except for the English Language section.

Tier-3 Exam Pattern

  • The Tier-3 exam will be of descriptive type (pen and paper mode).
  • This will consist of one Letter writing or Application writing question which will comprise 100 marks.
  • The total duration of the paper will be 1 hour, and 1 hour 20 minutes for candidates using scribe.
  • This will be an offline examination.

Tier-4 Exam Pattern

  • The Tier-4 exam will be a Data Entry Skill Test or Computer Proficiency Test.
  • Only candidates who have applied for the post of Tax Assistants (Central Excise & Income Tax) are required to attend this test.
  • The skill test will be conducted for a passage of about 2,000 key depressions for 15 minutes.
  • The test will be qualifying in nature and will be conducted in online mode.
