CLAT Exam Pattern 2023: The Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLU) has issued the CLAT 2023 exam pattern on its official website. The exam pattern includes all the details of the question paper to be asked in the CLAT 2023 exam. The exam pattern will include the mode, medium, duration, number of questions, types of questions to be asked, the level of the exam marking scheme etc. This article has all the relevant information on the CLAT 2023 exam pattern.
As per the notification on the official website, the CLAT 2023 was held on December 18, 2022. The conducting body accepted the application form from August 8 to November 18, 2022. The CLAT syllabus for postgraduate and undergraduate levels is defined separately in the notification on the official website. Candidates applying for the CLAT 2023 exam are advised to prepare according to the syllabus given as per the CLAT 2023 exam pattern. For the undergraduate level, the CLAT 2023 syllabus is divided into five parts, i.e. English Language, Current Affairs, including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques.
The syllabus of the CLAT postgraduate level is mainly divided into two parts, i.e. Constitutional Law and other Law Subjects such as Contract, Torts, Criminal Law, International Law, IPR and Jurisprudence.
Let us look at the exam pattern of CLAT 2023 at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Under Graduate Level– The exam will be conducted offline as per the CLAT 2023 exam pattern. The candidates have to answer the question that will be displayed on a computer and submit the answer by choosing from the options given.
Post Graduate Level– The exam will be conducted online mode. There will be 120 objective questions to be solved in 120 minutes. No descriptive or essay questions in PG CLAT 2023.
The exam will be conducted in the English language only. The candidates will not be allowed to solve the CLAT 2023 question paper in any other language per the provided CLAT 2023 exam pattern analysis. In the question paper of the undergraduate level, the questions will only be asked in the English language. In the question paper at the postgraduate level, both multiple-choice and essay-type questions will be asked and solved in the English language only.
Let us look at the duration of the CLAT 2023 exam.
Under Graduate Level: The applicants will be provided 150 multiple choice questions, which they will have to solve within the duration of two hours as per the CLAT 2023 provided exam pattern.
Post Graduate Level: The questions will be objective (MCQs) in nature. As per the latest exam pattern of CLAT 2023, the CLAT PG question paper will include 120 multiple-choice questions. The applicants will have to solve the question paper within the duration of two hours.
