CLAT Counselling 2022: The Consortium of National Law Universities started the counselling for the applicants of CLAT 2022 on June 25, 2022. CNLU publishes the invite list for CLAT counselling on the official website. The candidates who cracked the CLAT 2022 had to register online for the counselling process, provide fresh preferences for the colleges and complete payment of counselling fees of Rs.50,000/-.
The invitation list for CLAT counselling contains five times the number of available seats in the 22 participating NLUs. A candidate is required to fill a minimum of five NLU preferences during the CLAT counselling registration process. The applicants who were shortlisted after the declaration of the result are sent the call letters for online registration of counselling. The counselling information is uploaded on the Consortium website as well. Candidates can log in to their CLAT account and register for the counselling process. The registration process includes the following 2 steps:
After the payment of the counselling fee, the first admission list is released by CNLUs. Candidates have the following options:
The second list is published on the official website after applicants’ seat locking and up-gradation. A list of awaited applicants who were waiting for their seat allotment after the first round is also released. If their names are found in the second list, they will have to submit the admission fee and complete the admission process.
The applicants who do not wish to take admission as per the allotted NLU can withdraw their fees within the specified time limit, or they can simply not deposit the fees if they do not wish to take admission to the allotted college.
Suppose the applicant withdraws the fees after the successful submission within the specified time as provided. In that case, the amount of INR 10,000 is deducted as the processing fees from the submitted fees, and the remaining INR 40,000 is refunded back to the applicant’s bank account.
The same process is followed in the final round of counselling. After the seat allotment, all the applicants are advised to save the copy and take out the print of the allotment list for future reference.
