CNLU publishes the invite list for CLAT counselling on the official website. The candidates who crack the CLAT 2023 register online for the counselling process, provide fresh preferences for the colleges and complete payment of registration fees.
The invitation list for CLAT counselling contains five times the number of available seats in the 22 participating NLUs. A candidate is required to fill a minimum of five NLU preferences during the CLAT counselling registration process. CLAT Counselling 2023 — Steps to be Followed
The applicants who were shortlisted after the declaration of the result are sent emails regarding online registration of counselling. To complete their registration for the Admissions Counselling Process, candidates had to login to their CLAT accounts and pay the Counselling Registration Fee by 6:00 P.M. on January 12, 2023 as set out below:

What After CLAT Counselling Fees Payment?
After the payment of the counselling fee, the first admission list is released by CNLUs. Candidates have the following options:
Freeze option: If the candidate is satisfied with the allotted seat, accepts it, and is not interested in participating in further rounds of seat allocation/ counselling, they may ‘Freeze’ the seat allocation.
Float option: If the candidate has not been allotted their first preference NLU and chooses to leave ‘open’ the possibility of getting a higher preference NLU seat they may choose the ‘Float’ Option.
Exit from CLAT Admission Process: If at any time after completing the Registration Process, a candidate does not want to participate any further in the Counselling Process, they may choose to ‘Exit’ the Admissions Counselling Process. If a candidate has chosen a Float or Freeze Option prior to the Exit option, the seat allocated to them will be reallocated, and the Confirmation Fee will be forfeited. No candidate will be allotted a seat after choosing the Exit option.
Confirmation Fee: An eligible candidate who has been allotted a seat as per their indicated NLU preferences will be required to pay a non-refundable Confirmation Fee of Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees Twenty thousand only) prior to selecting a ‘Freeze’ or ‘Float’ option in the First and Second rounds of counselling. A candidate needs to pay the Confirmation Fee only once in the entire Admissions and Counselling Process.
CLAT 2023 Counselling —Publication of Second Admission List
The first list is published on the official website after applicants’ seat locking and up-gradation. The seat allotment list for 2023 was released on January 18, 2023. Registered candidates will be able to check the allotment list on the CLAT 2023 login on official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
CLAT 2023 Counselling — Withdrawal of Seat
The applicants who do not wish to take admission as per the allotted NLU can withdraw their fees within the specified time limit, or they can simply not deposit the fees if they do not wish to take admission to the allotted college.
The same process is followed in the final round of counselling. After the seat allotment, all the applicants are advised to save the copy and take out the print of the allotment list for future reference.
Important Note:
After the final round, applicants must report to the allotted NLUs along with the documents and certificates required for the CLAT 2023 admission.
The applicants are advised to follow the eligibility criteria for CLAT 2023 admission strictly. If, after CLAT 2023, the applicants are found not to fulfil the eligibility criteria, then their admission will be cancelled by the NLU.
