- Gramin Dak Sevak Selection Process is based on the candidate’s marks in the Class 10 exam (Matriculation).
- The marks scored by the candidate will be rounded off to the accuracy of 4 decimals to prepare the Gramin Dak Sevak merit list.
- There will be no weightage given to candidates having higher qualifications, past experience, and service knowledge. The selection will only be based on merit (marks in Class 10).

Candidates need to go through the GDS eligibility criteria before filling the GDS application process. The GDS eligibility details are as follows:
Age Criteria: The candidate’s age must be between 18 to 40 years.

Computer knowledge: Candidates must have a basic knowledge of computers. Candidates need to produce Basic Computer Training Course Certificate with a minimum period of 60 days. However, this can be relaxed if the candidate has studied computer as a subject in Class 10, 12 or any higher educational level. In such a case, a separate certificate will not be insisted upon.
