RBI Grade B Phase 1: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is the exam-conducting authority of the RBI Officers Grade B 2025 Phase I exam. The authorities will conduct the exam tentatively in May 2025. Last year, authorities introduced 294 vacancies, which included vacancies for 238 Officers in Grade ‘B’(DR)—General, 31 Officers in Grade ‘B’(DR)—DEPR and 25 Officers in Grade ‘B’(DR)—DSIM. This year, the number is expected to be around 300. This year, the total vacancies are 291 including Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) for General, DEPR, and DSIM. 

The RBI shall determine candidates’ performance based on three selection rounds: RBI Grade B Phase-I, RBI Grade B Phase-II, and the final round, i.e., the interview. • The RBI Grade B officer salary for the selected candidates will be ₹55,200/-.
• The RBI Grade B officer provides several benefits such as DA, HRA, conveyance allowance, bank loan facility, medical allowance, education allowance, leave fare concession and more.
• At the moment, the initial monthly gross emoluments is INR 1,08,404/-. (approx).

RBI Grade B 2025 Job Profile

• Candidates undergo a training period of 15 weeks after their selection as Grade B Officer in RBI,

Education Qualification

Education Qualification for Officers in Grade B (DR) – General

• A minimum of 60% (55 per cent in the case of SC/ST/PwBD) or an equivalent grade in the Bachelor’s degree, as well as the 12th (or Diploma or similar) and 10th Standard exams.
• For a Bachelor’s degree, the minimum qualifying percentage or equivalent grade should be calculated as an average of all semesters/years.

Education Qualification for Officers in Grade B (DR) – DEPR

• A Master’s Degree in Economics/Quantitative Economics/Econometrics/Mathematical Economics/Integrated Economics Course/Finance from a recognised Indian or Foreign University/Institute with a minimum of 55 per cent marks (50 per cent for SC, ST, and PwBD candidates) or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/ years is required.
• An extra prerequisite would be a doctorate in Economics, research or teaching experience in Economics, or publications in peer-reviewed journals.

The authorities will release the RBI Grade B Exam admit card on their official website. Applicants must provide their registration number to download the admission cards. RBI Grade B Admit Card will include personal information and exam centre details such as the exam day, slot and time. It is mandatory for candidates to carry their admit cards to the exam centre.

RBI releases the provisional and final answer keys before declaring the result. Candidates can raise objections against the provisional answer key if they are unsatisfied with its answers. The authorities will release the final answer key after accepting all the objections. The authorities will announce the RBI Grade B Phase 1 exam results probably in July 2025. RBI separately announces results for both phases in the form of a PDF on the official website. The results provide the roll number of qualified candidates shortlisted for the next phase. To access the results, candidates must enter their Receipt Number and Date of Birth. Candidates who pass the RBI Grade B Phase I exam will be eligible to take the RBI Grade B Phase II exam.
