AFMC MBBS Eligibility Criteria 2022

All candidates who wish to take admission to Armed Forces Medical College have to meet the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of AFMC MBBS. 

AFMC MBBS Eligibility Criteria – Nationality 

  1. Candidates must be an Indian citizens. 
  2. Those belonging to Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Jammu & Kashmir are also eligible for admission to AFMC, Pune.
  3. Foreign nationals of Indian origin can also apply only if they have Indian Citizenship and a certificate of eligibility from the Ministry of Home Affairs. However, these criteria do not apply to the five Government-sponsored and Friendly Foreign Countries. 

AFMC MBBS 2022 Eligibility Criteria – Marital Status

  1. Candidates willing to take admission must be unmarried. Also, they will not be permitted to get married during the course. 

AFMC MBBS Eligibility Criteria 2022 – Age 

  1. The minimum age limit to apply for Armed Forces Medical College is 17 years of age. 
  2. The maximum age limit as prescribed by the authorities is 24 years of age. 

AFMC MBBS Eligibility Criteria 2022 – Educational Qualification 

  1. To apply for AFMC, Pune, candidates must have qualified in the NEET entrance examination. 
  2. Candidates must also have completed and passed in class 12th with Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and English from a recognized institute by the Government of India. 
  3. Candidates who are appearing in class 12th or equivalent examination can also apply for the AFMC MBBS admission process 2022. 

They must have also qualified in Mathematics of class 10th from the following Boards – 

  1. The Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination in Science from Indian University/Board or other recognized examination body with Physics, Chemistry, English, and Biology including practical tests in all of the above-mentioned Science subjects.
  2. Candidates who are in the first year of three years of degree course from any recognised University with Physics, Chemistry, English, and Biology including practical test in Science subjects provided the examination is a University level examination.
  3. The Pre-professional/Pre-Medical examination with the following subjects – English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (after passing either Higher Secondary School examination or pre-University or equivalent examination) including the practical tests in Science subjects. 
  4. Candidates from the Senior Secondary of Indian School Certificate examination must have 12 years of study. Also, the last two years of study must include Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics or any other elective subject with English at this level.
  5. Any other examination which will be equivalent to the Higher Secondary Science/Pre-Professional /Pre-medical Examination of Indian University/Board with English, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology, including practical tests in each of these Science subjects.

AFMC MBBS Eligibility Criteria – Minimum Marks Requirement 

  1. To be eligible for AFMC, candidates must have secured at least 60 percent aggregate marks in the Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology). Also, they must have secured 50 percent marks in English and 50 percent marks in each Science subject.

AFMC MBBS Eligibility Criteria 2022 – NEET Codes

Code 1: Candidates appearing or awaiting the class 12th are eligible to appear for NEET, but they need to produce the relevant documents at the time of admissions in AFMC MBBS.

Code 2: Those studying in the higher/senior secondary examination or ISC (ISC) that is equivalent to class 12th exam and comes after a period of 12 years of study are eligible under this code. The last two years must include science subjects – Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and Mathematics or any other elective subjects with English (core subject). Those who have passed class 10+2 in 2020 or before and have not pursued any other course after completing class 12th will have to choose this code.

Code 3: Candidates who have appeared for intermediate/pre-degree examination in Science with Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Biotechnology, and English as core subjects can select this code. Also, those who have completed the qualifying examination can go for this code.

Code 4: Those who have completed and passed the pre-medical/pre-professional exam after qualifying in HSC can choose this code. The qualifying examination must also include Science practice tests.

Code 5: Candidates completing three years of bachelor’s degree with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as main subjects and have qualified the first year with practical tests are eligible to apply for this code. They are also required to pass 10+2 to apply under this code. 

Code 6: Those who have a B.Sc degree with at least two subjects – Chemistry, Physics, Biology (Botany/Zoology), and Biotechnology can choose this code. Along with that, the candidates are also required to pass class 12th with PCB and English.

Code 7: Candidates who have passed any examination equivalent to the intermediate examination of any Indian University with Physics, chemistry, biology/biotechnology, and English must select this code. The qualifying last two years should include Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and practice tests.
