CBSE NCERT Solutions For Class 10 Maths Chapter 14 – Chapter Description
In this chapter, you will learn about Statistics – the branch of Mathematics which deals with data collection, its organization and analysis, interpretation and presentation. While applying Statistics to a scientific, industrial or social problem, it is conventional to begin with a statistical population or a statistical model. The population can be diverse groups of people or objects such as “all people living in a country”, “every atom composing a crystal”, etc. Statistics deals with every aspect of data, including the planning of the data collection in terms of the design of the survey and experiment.
Two main statistical methods that are used in data analysis are descriptive statistics, that summarize data from a sample using indexes such as mean or standard deviation, and inferential statistics, which draw the conclusion from data that are subject to random variation (e.g., observational errors, sampling variation).
