CDS Exam Centres 2023: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released the CDS exam centre list in its official notification on December 21, 2022. The written exam will be conducted in two shifts in more than 70 cities across the country. Applicants must choose their preference of exam centres while filling out the application form. However, they can select only one exam centre.

CDS 2023 Exam Centre Announcement Date

The UPSC released the admit card for CDS 1 2023 exam on March 24, 2023. Candidates will be informed of the exam centre through the admit card. It will include the name of the exam centre, the exam date and the time of reporting. Candidates can check the latest dates related to the exam and centre announcement from the below table:

How To Practice Questions on UPSC CDS Exam?

Know the steps to practice questions on the UPSC CDS Exam 2023 below:

  • 1st Step: Visit Embibe’s official website, i.e., embibe.com.
  • 2nd Step: Use the mobile number/email to log in.
  • 3rd Step: Click on the menu bar “Getting a Government Job”.
  • 4th Step: Select the Goal “Defence” from the dropdown and click on “Next”.
  • 5th Step: Search and select “UPSC CDS” on the search bar and click on “Next”.
  • 6th Step: Select the preferred language and click on “Done”.
  • 7th Step: Click “Practice” from the header Section.
  • 8th Step: Scroll down to the “Subjects” section.
  • 9th Step: Click on any UPSC CDS Exam subjects.
  • 10th Step: Scroll down to click on the chapters from the selected subject to begin the practice.

Key Points on UPSC CDS Test Centres

There is a chance that aspirants may have to appear for the test at different centres as per the circumstances. Here are a few important points about CDS 2023 exam centres that applicants must pay attention to:

  • Every exam centre can take up to a certain number of students for the written exam. Once all the seats have been allocated to the candidates, UPSC will no longer allocate seats to any candidate in the same centre (this is called ceiling). That’s why it is recommended that candidates fill out the CDS Application Form as soon as possible.
  • In case all the seats in a particular centre are allocated, the next option selected by the candidate will be allocated if the seats are not filled.
  • The ceiling is not applicable for these CDS OTA SSB centres: Chennai, Dispur, Kolkata, and Nagpur.
  • UPSC has the right to change the centre if the situation demands it.

CDS Exam Centres Instructions

The conducting authority provides guidelines on the admit card to attend the CDS exam. Here are some important guidelines that candidates must follow:

  • Candidates must not carry mobile phones even if it is in switched-off mode. Any electronic items like a pager, pen drive/smartwatches/camera/Bluetooth devices/any other equipment/related accessories that can be used as a communication device, are banned.
  • If any candidate is still bringing any of the above items or the items in the list of “not permitted” items mentioned below, they are advised to keep them outside the exam hall.
  • Disciplinary action, including a ban from all future exams, can be taken if the above rule is found to be violated.
  • No one will be responsible if any of the candidate’s items are stolen.
  • Articles that are permitted inside the exam hall are:
    • Clipboard or hardboard (on which nothing is written)
    • Good quality black ball pen for marking responses on the answer sheet
  • Articles that are not permitted inside the exam hall are:
    • Books
    • Notes
    • Loose sheets or rough sheets pertaining to the earlier session
    • Electronic or any other type of calculator
    • Mathematical and drawing instruments
    • Log tables, slide rules, test booklets
    • Mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, pagers, or any other communication devices.
