CLAT Notification 2023: The Consortium of National Law Universities released the CLAT notification 2023 on July 15, 2022, on the official website. The CLAT 2023 application form is released on August 8, 2022, and candidates can fill out the same till November 13, 2022. The CLAT application correction window will open, and candidates will have an option to edit certain fields of the submitted application form within the specified time.

CLAT 2023 is a national-level entrance exam for admissions to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law courses. Twenty-two national law universities will accept CLAT 2023 scores for admission to the five-year integrated LLB programmes and one-year LLM courses across India. CLAT 2023: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates need to meet the following eligibility criteria to appear for the exam:

1. Age Limit

As per the revised criteria, there is no age limit for CLAT 2023, for both UG and PG.

2. Educational Qualification

For UG, a minimum of 45% marks in Class 12 or equivalent exam is required for the unreserved, OBC and Specially-abled Category. A minimum of 40% marks in Class 12 or equivalent exam is required for the SC/ST category.

For PG, candidates must have passed LLM or an equivalent exam from a recognized University.

Note: Candidates who are appearing for their 12th class 2023 exam or equivalent examination are also eligible to apply for CLAT 2023. They are required to submit the proof of successfully clearing the exam at the time of admission, failing to do so they won’t be granted admission to the course.

How to Apply for CLAT 2023?

You can apply for CLAT 2023 exam by following the steps:

  • 1st Step: Visit the official website of CLAT: consortiumofnlu.ac.in.
  • 2nd Step: Click on “Apply Now”.
  • 3rd Step: Now click on “Click here for new registration”.
  • 4th Step: Enter the necessary details and click on “Submit” to register yourself. Your User ID and Password will be sent to your registered Email ID.
  • 5th Step: Use your User ID and Password to log in.
  • 6th Step: Enter your personal, academic and other details.
  • 7th Step: Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and other documents.
  • 8th Step: Click on “Final Submit.”
  • 9th Step: Make a payment of the CLAT application fees.
  • 10th Step: Take a printout of the form for future reference.

CLAT Application Fee 2023

Candidates applying for CLAT 2023 can either apply online or offline. For offline payment, they can pay through bank challan and for online payment they can either pay through Debit Cards, Credit Cards or Net Banking. Below are the category-wise application fees for CLAT:

CLAT Selection Process

CLAT is a single-staged offline examination. Candidates must have a clear knowledge of the CLAT Exam Pattern.

CLAT UG 2023 will consist of 150 objective-type questions, each carrying 1 mark. Previously CLAT carried 200 objective-type questions. In total, there will be 5 sections namely- English Language, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Legal Reasoning, and Logical Reasoning. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer. The total time duration is 2 hours.

CLAT PG will include only 120 MCQs to be answered in 120 minutes. There will be no Descriptive Section in CLAT 2023.

Candidates have to download the hall ticket from the official website itself and they will not receive any hard copy for the same.
