NEET UG Statistics 2020 – The application process for NEET 2020 has been successfully concluded on January 6, 2020. This year, NEET has seen a minor rise of applications, 4.87 per cent or 74,083 candidates more from last year. Since, MHRD has made NEET compulsory for admission to medical and dental courses across the major medical institutes of the country, the rise of application seems to be obvious. However, despite knowing the fact that the NEET has been made mandatory to get admission into AIIMS and JIPMER, the numbers were less than expected, as compared to last year.
Earlier, both the institutes used to conduct their own entrance test for selecting the deserving candidates. Apart from medical and dental courses, NEET is also mandatory for AYUSH courses and 15% All India Quota seats of Veterinary courses across the country.
