NEST 2022 will be conducted in two shifts. The authorities will calculate the percentile score based on the candidates’ relative performance in the respective session.

Candidates will have to secure marks equal to or greater than the Minimum Admissible Percentile (MAP) and Section-wise Minimum Admissible Score (SMAS) in order to qualify for admission to NISER and CEBS.

It is important to fulfil the MAP and SMAS to be eligible for admission to NISER and CEBS.

Section-Wise Minimum Admissible Score (SMAS)

Here are a few important points about SMAS:

  1. The authorities will calculate SMAS by taking 20% of the average of the best 100 scores in that section.
  2. The SMAS in the General section is mandatory for admission to NISER and CEBS.
  3. SMAS in all four subject sections is mandatory in addition to the General section for admission to NISER.
  4. For admission to CEBS, SMAS in any 3 subject sections is mandatory in addition to the General section.

Minimum Admissible Percentile (MAP)

The minimum Admissible Percentile (MAP) is the minimum percentile score necessary to get a merit rank. If a candidate does not secure the MAP, he/ she will get a rank. The authorities will not consider him/her for any further admission processes.

  • 1. MAP for NEST 2022 is 95 percentile for General Category candidates
  • 2. MAP for NEST 2022 is 90 percentile for OBC Candidates
  • 3. MAP for NEST 2022 is 75 percentile for SC/ST/PWD Candidates

Note: Candidates who clear MAP SAMS will appear for NEST counselling. However, getting into the merit list does not mean that the candidate is entitled to admissions/counselling.
