The State Bank Of India conducts the SBI PO exam every year for the post of Probationary Officer across all its branches in India. Every year, SBI notifies around 2000 vacancies for the post of Probationary Officer, also called Management Trainees. The starting basic pay is Rs. 27,620/- (with 4 advance increments) in the scale of 23700-980/7-30560-1145/2-32850-1310/7-42020 applicable to Junior Management Grade Scale I.
SBI PO 2019 | Eligibility Criteria
Candidates are required to meet the following eligibility criteria for the post of SBI PO:

|Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government. Those who are in the Final Year/ Semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for Interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 31.08.2019. Candidates having Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 31.08.2019. Candidates possessing qualification of Chartered Accountant may also apply.|

|Applicants should not be below 21 years and not above 30 years as on 01.04.2019, i.e., candidates must have been born not later than 01.04.1998 and not earlier than 02.04.1989 (both days inclusive).

|Nationality||Candidates applying for SBI PO 2019 Exam should be one of the following:
i) Citizen of India
ii) A subject of Nepal or Bhutan
iii) Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, Vietnam or from East India countries of Kenya, Tanzania, Zaire, Uganda, Ethiopia, Zambia, Malawi with the intention of settling permanently in India.
iv) Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement.
– Candidates belonging to categories ii, iii or iv must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Govt of India in their favour.
SBI PO 2019 | Application Form
SBI PO 2019 Online Application Form has been released on the official website, sbi.co.in, on 1st April 2019. Check out the steps to fill the SBI PO 2019 Application Form below:
- 1st Step: Go the official website of SBI PO: sbi.co.in
- 2nd Step: Go to the top right corner of the screen and click on “CAREERS Click Here”.
- 3rd Step: Click on “Latest Announcements”.
- 4th Step: Click on “Download Advertisement (English)” for the official notification and “Apply Online” for the SBI PO 2019 Application Form.
- 5th Step: Click on “Click Here for New Registration”.
- 6th Step: Read the instructions carefully and click on “Continue”.
- 7th Step: Enter your basic details, like Name, Mobile Number, and Email ID.
- 8th Step: Enter the security code and click on “Save & Next”. At this point, a Provisional Registration Number and Password will be generated for you and sent through SMS and Email. Note them down.
- 9th Step: Upload scanned images of your Photograph and Signature in the prescribed specifications, and click on “Next”.
- 10th Step: Enter the post you applied for, your category, and other personal details. Enter your postal address along with PIN code. Validate the details and click on “Save & Next”.
- 11th Step: Enter your educational and experience details, etc. Validate them and click on “Save & Next”.
- 12th Step: Check all the entered details. If everything is correct, check the box against the declaration statement. Also, confirm your signature. Click on “Final Submit”.
- 13th Step: Upload scanned image of hand-written declaration in the prescribed format.
- 14th Step: Make payment of your SBI PO 2019 application form and take a print out of the application form and confirmation page for future reference.
SBI PO 2019 Application Fee
SBI PO 2019 application fee is to be paid online. Fee/intimation charge is non-refundable and non-transferable for any future exam. The category-wise application fee for SBI PO 2019 is as under:

Applicants can pay the application fees through Credit card, Debit card, and Internet Banking, Mobile Wallet/Cash Card, and IMPS. It is to be noted that there is no offline payment of the application fee.
Requirement Of Scanned Documents
When applying for the exam, aspirants need to upload scanned images of their Photograph, Signature, Left Thumb Impression and a Hand-written Declaration. The requirements are as under:
Photograph: Your photograph should be a recent one and passport-sized. Its dimension should be 200 pixels x 230 pixels and the size of the photograph should be 20-50 kb.
Signature, Left Thumb Impression, and Hand-Written Declaration: Aspirants signature should be in black ink on a white paper. Left Thumb Impression should be in black or blue ink on a white paper. Hand-Written Declaration should be written in English with black ink on a white paper. The dimension of the said documents should be 140 pixels x 60 pixels and the size of the documents should be 10-20 kb.
SBI PO 2019 | Selection Process And Exam Pattern
SBI PO exam follows a three-tier selection process. Candidates are required to get through each of the stages to reach on to the next level. The stages involved in the selection of aspirants are as under:
1st Stage: SBI PO Preliminary Exam
2nd Stage: SBI PO Main Exam
3rd Stage: Group Exercises and Interview
1. SBI PO Preliminary Exam
The SBI PO Preliminary exam is an objective type test and is conducted for a one-hour duration. The exam has 3 sections having a total of 100 questions with a maximum score of 100 marks. For each wrong answer, there is a negative marking of 0.25. In order to qualify for the SBI PO Mains, it is required of the aspirants to clear the sectional as well as the overall cut off marks for Prelims.

2. SBI PO Main Exam
SBI PO Mains has two sections- Objective and Descriptive. Objective section is of 200 marks and Descriptive section carries 50 marks. Both of these tests are taken online. A descriptive test will take place right after the completion of the objective test on the same day.
The SBI PO Mains objective test is of 3 hours duration and consist of 4 sections carrying a total of 200 marks. The objective test has separate timings for every section.

SBI PO descriptive test carries 50 marks with a time duration of 30 minutes. This section tests your English writing skills as it contains two sections: Letter Writing and Essay.
3. Group Exercises and Interview
Selection for the Group Exercises and Interview will be based on a category-wise merit list. Th category wise merit list will be drawn on the basis of the aggregate marks scored in the Main Examination. There will be no sectional cut-off. Candidates numbering up to 3 times (approx.) of the category wise vacancies will be shortlisted for the Group Exercise and Interview from the top of the category wise merit list subject to a candidate scoring the minimum aggregate qualifying score.
20 marks will be given for Group Exercises and 30 marks for the Interview. Candidates qualifying for Group Exercises and Interview under ‘OBC’ category would be required to submit OBC certificate containing the ‘Non-Creamy layer’ clause.
The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination will not be added for preparing the final merit list for selection. Only the marks obtained in the Main Examination, both in the Objective Test and the Descriptive Test, will be added to the marks obtained in Group Exercise and Interview for preparing the final merit list. The candidates will have to qualify both in the Prelim and Main exam separately. Marks secured by the candidates in the Main Examination (out of 250 marks) are converted to out of 75 marks and marks secured in the Group Exercise & Interview (out of 50 marks) are converted to out of 25 marks. The final merit list is arrived at after aggregating (out of 100) converted marks of Main Examination and Group Exercise & Interview. The final selection will be made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category. SBI PO Result of the candidates who qualify for Main Examination and Group Exercise & Interview as well as the final selection list will be made available on the official website.
