To qualify for the SSC CHSL exam, candidates must meet the SSC CHSL cutoff 2022 marks in all three stages. SSC CHSL Selection Tier 1: Computer-based Exam

Tier 1 of the SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level selection process includes only computer-based paper. It is a purely objective test. Here are a few key points about the Tier 1 recruitment process:

  • The Tier 1 exam consists of multiple questions (objective).
  • This test consists of four subjects that assess the fundamental knowledge of Quantitative Aptitude, General Intelligence, English Language, and General Awareness.
  • This examination consists of 100 questions.
  • Except for the English language section, questions will be set in both English and Hindi.
  • Candidates will have a maximum of one hour to complete the exam.
  • The overall duration of the exam is 60 minutes. However, candidates eligible for scribe will get 80 minutes.
  • Applicants should expect moderate-level questions. Furthermore, as the competition is high, it is essential to perform well on this objective test.

SSC CHSL Selection Tier 2: Descriptive Test

The descriptive test will be held for all applicants who achieved the minimum SSC CHSL cutoff marks 2022 Tier 1 Exam. Here are some key points about the CHSL Tier 2 recruitment process:

  • This exam will be conducted offline.
  • The essay will have a word limit of 200-250 words.
  • A letter or application will be limited to 150-200 words.
  • This paper will evaluate the writing abilities.
  • To be qualified, candidates must achieve a minimum score of 33%. They should also be aware that the Tier 2 exam will determine merit in the assessment process.
  • Aspirants may choose to write the paper in either English or Hindi.
  • Candidates are not permitted to write in both languages at the same time. If they decide to write in Hindi, the entire paper must be written in Hindi, and vice versa in English.
  • There is no negative marking for incorrect answers in this exam.
  • The marks earned in Tier 2 will be used to compile the merit list.

SSC CHSL Selection Tier 3: Skill Test/ Typing Test

Shortlisted candidates must either take the Typing Test or the Data Entry Operator Test. The final merit of the successful applicants would be determined by their total scores in Tiers 1 and 2.

Tier 3 exams are held to assess aspirants’ practical knowledge. SSC CHSL Tier 3 is a qualifying examination. Aspirants for JSA/LDC and SA/PA positions must take the Tier 3 exam. The following details about the SSC CHSL Tier 3 examination have been highlighted:

Important Points to Remember

  • It is a qualifying examination. The performance of this exam will not be considered in the final merit list.
  • Candidates will be chosen for the skill test or typing test based on their performance in the written examination (objective paper (Tier 1) + descriptive paper (Tier 2)).
  • If an applicant applies for the Lower Division Clerk (LDC) position, he must pass a typing test.
  • Candidates who have applied for the post of DEO must demonstrate their ability in a 15-minute test with a sheet containing 2000-2200 strokes. The candidate must enter the data from the computer at a rate of 8,000 key depressions per hour.
  • VH candidates (those with 40% or more disabilities) will be given 30 minutes to complete the typing test.
  • For the Data Entry Operator in the CAG Office, the ‘speed of 15000 key depressions per hour on desktop’ will be determined by the correct entry of words/key depressions according to the given passage. The exam will last 15 (fifteen) minutes, and each candidate will be given printed material in English containing approximately 3700-4000 key depressions to enter into the computer.

SSC CHSL Document Verification Process

After completing the SSC CHSL Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 rounds, applicants must undergo the document verification process. Aspirants must submit original documents.

Candidates must bring the original photo identity proof and two recent passport-sized photographs to the document verification process. Candidates can bring any one of the following photo identification proofs:

  • Voter ID Card
  • Aadhaar Card
  • PAN Card
  • Passport
  • Driver’s License
  • School ID/College ID card
  • Employer ID (for those candidates who are employed in PSU/Govt Sectors/Private Sector)

Candidates must submit the following documents for the DV process:

  • Class 10 Certificate
  • Class 12 Certificate
  • In the case of an equivalent academic qualification, candidates must show proof of completing the relevant courses.
  • Caste certificate of the aspirants
  • Physically disabled certificate for the PWD aspirants

SSC CHSL 2022 Final Allotment

  • The final selection and department assignment will be based on the aspirants’ performance in the SSC CHSL Tier 1 and 2 exams. 
  • The recommended applicants will be assigned to the positions of PA, SA, DEO, and LDC based on the merit list. 
  • Candidates will not be permitted to change their preference for a post once it has been announced.
