The Government of Mizoram established the Mizoram Board of School Education (MBSE) in 1975. The board is based in Aizwal, Mizoram. The MBSE regulates, supervises, and controls all school-related activities. Every year, approximately 40,000 students sit for the Mizoram Board 10th exams. MBSE develops and enforces rules for all Mizoram State Board-affiliated public and private schools. The Board is also responsible for the prescribed curriculum for regular and vocational students. Besides overseeing all administrative work in the schools, the MBSE administers exams for both public and private schools.
